Apparently Ruben Amorim is also in the shortlist. He's the Sporting manager and highly rated IIRC.

Beppe Marotta of Inter might be a good DOF target. Inter have no money so his job is really difficult over there.

There was literally a tweet before posted on here saying that we’re looking for a new DOF.

Meanwhile the guy we’re apparently looking to replace is the one involved in getting a new manager who won’t even work with him.

This fucking club.

Paratici‘s manager picks have consisted of Gattuso and Nuno. I don’t want that man anywhere near choosing a manager, he doesn’t seem to realise as fans we have to watch the football those managers put on.

Would definitely take Enrique, either him or Poch needs to be installed right now. We need to start making these steps now. How are we supposed to plan for next season when we don’t even know who’s gonna be in charge.

Both managers fit the philosophy we want and the good thing about both is they’ve both already managed at those elite elite clubs so would be more likely to commit to an actual project at this stage of their careers.

And we're still paying for N'Dombele, and Lo Celso, and Reguilon, and whoever else we paid good money for and now have out on a free somewhere.

I terms of outstanding money on players already signed, that's just how football works for the most part (not just us)..... All the annual trf spend means is an 'on-paper' commitment attributed to that years accounts......

eg. 100m summer budget doesn't literally mean cash spent in that window.

Because this current one can't play it. It's beyond their abilities/ capabilities.

You realise that you can make that same argument for any manager we bring in.

If you're advocating for a possession heavy manager where we will see more of the ball than any manager will face the same problem in your world.

I don't think it's that deep anyway, I don't think we need a complete turnaround of players in the Summer, there's a core there who with the right coaching can adapt IMO

I've always stated that we have a decent core to build on. However that squad fits Poch's philosophy way more than Enrique's or Tuchel's.

That much may be true.... Depends on what you supplement it with, I guess.

The one thing I am fairly certain about is that we aren't equipped to play a high energy 4231. We'd need to virtually replace the entire front 4 and then buy back-ups too!

This doesn't sound very tiki taka

One of the most renowned and successful managers of his generation, Luis Enrique's incisive and direct football featuring quick transitions from defense to attack, though reliant on the front three of Messi, Suárez and Neymar, was in sharp contrast to the possession-heavy approach of Barcelona managers immediately prior to him. Statistically, Luis Enrique's Barcelona, in his first two years at the club, were better than Guardiola's: Comparatively his team had scored more goals and conceded fewer, had a higher win percentage and won competitions at a similar rate. Guardiola hailed them as the best counter-attacking team in the world.

It would be nice to have a team that wanted to have possession of the ball and press aggressively off it. the idea that you'd be happy to let your opponents have the ball seems insane to me! It would also be nice for our players to feel comfortable on the ball and to trust them, Hojbjerg is just one that makes me sweat on the ball, like he'll lose it any minute, so many of our players' second touch is a tackle.

Even possession heavy managers have differences. Poch is more direct than Enrique or Guardiola are (Enrique is more direct than Guardiola).

Poch > Klopp > Tuchel > Enrique > Pep when it comes to direct football. All possession heavy managers, but all with completely different styles.

Richarlison
Gil - New CAM (Maddison or Scott) - Kulusevski

If Kane stays then that saves us a signing (most likely he'll go).

Whatever style of football we play, Son, Lucas, Danjuma etc. are as good as gone.

In my opinion I think we are better off going for a possession based manager rather than a direct rock and roll football manager right now, in order to allow these players to get used to having the ball after 4 years of counter attack football. It would benefit players like Son and Kane as they won't have to press as much, since we will naturally have more possession in game.

If we were to get a direct manager right now we will lose the ball more and we will see similarities to Conte and Mourinho ball
