There's only two managers available right now considered elite, Enrique and Tuchel. Tuchel is probably a waste of time since he seems to have a falling out with every single board he's ever worked with.

I think Enrique is a good choice, I don't really care if his death by a thousand passes football is boring. I've managed to watch nearly every minute of Conteball this season. We'll target more technical players if he comes in which will improve the team.

Or we can try to find the next elite manager. De Zerbi, Gallardo or Carrick seem to be the most likely ones. I don't see us getting Gallardo or Carrick and I have no idea if De Zerbi would jump ship this early.

I know people are disillusioned with so called elite managers at this point, but the only way to be up there is to either get an elite manager and back him, or get a manager you think will come good and be elite in a few years. The latter carries more of a risk.

I was thinking about this last night.

I think the board will go for another ‘name’ as they see us as a big entity who can attract big names, even if it is detrimental to the way the club is run.

One of:
Enrique
Tuchel
Poch

I don’t think they’ll consider the likes of Thomas Frank, Di Zerbi or Silva as they aren’t ‘big enough’ names. Besides, they’re all in contracts, and I doubt they want to buy a manager out, so it’ll likely be someone who’s a free agent.

I want a manager that's taking a step up not a step down. The latter type will be used to working with high quality players and big budgets. It will always be short lived and the dissilusion sets in quickly. So i'm definitely more for the De Zerbi, Gallardo, Amorin, Glasner, Kompany, Carrick type than Tuchel or Enrique.

Yep, same here we should also be looking at the future of managers not the past as well. We need the next Klopp or Pep.

Agree. Thought for a long time it would come down to those 3 as much as i want us to look for a younger up and coming manager i just dont see it. Levy is in thrall to big name managers, lest we forget he wanted Van Gaal before Poch. A big name and out of contract and Levy will be as happy as a pig in shit. Of those 3, its Poch. The squad suits him best with the younger players, the fans will be on side and he's the only one that might stay 3 or 4 seasons.

The one big negative about appointing Luis to me is that it would seemingly be done just to appease Kane. Rather than to allow him to build a team long term.

We can't appoint managers just to appease a player.

The club has to think professionally. I love Kane but he can’t be there shouting for a big name manager like Luis Enrique if he isn’t the right fit. The club needs to get a manager that fits the club, that has to be the number one priority.

I don't think there is any coincidence between Luis Enrique setting up Spain without a prolific number 9, our interest in him and Kane having one last chance for the club to get a fee.

Luis could be the right fit if he is allowed to build a team that suits his vision. But if he is just brought in to appease our star player than that is not a good fit.
