Manager Antonio Conte

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

What clarity are they looking for? :dohertyshrug:

[Conte walks into Levy's office]

Levy: "Okay Antonio, it's decision time. Will you sign the contract extension or not?"
Conte: "At this moment, it's very unlikely. My family is still in Italy. I miss them terribly, and I have my recent health issues to worry about."
Levy: "Unlikely, as in one in a hundred?"
Conte: "More like one in a million..."

The board, whatever that actually means - probably just the diddy Hitler himself, are tying themselves in knots that no fisherman with a reel overloaded with kinky monofilament casting into a headwind could ever manage. Recent years have been a total shambles, in fact make that 23 years now.
The whole embarrassing shitshow is largely attributable to Levy's incessant meddling at every possible point in every possible footballing decision, the man has the touch of death when it comes to player acquisition; "Grealish? Too risky at 25mill". but "Sess yeah a bargain by comparison". Multiply this gross incompetence by every transfer window.
I'm sure he is a closet gooner because nobody else could cause the damage our board has managed.
The best chairmen, are, the ones that you barely hear about or know.
Everyone knows levy, because of his, I know more than anyone else bollocks, constant managerial failings, along with player recruitment, should see this cunt out of a job.
But, because of his relationship with the main owner, along with his part ownership, will see him continue to meddle and fuck things up for years to come.

Long time lurker to this board but had to create an account to reply to this.

It's this ignorance that makes the Spurs fans probably the biggest ownership apologists in the PL. Let me take you back to 17/18 champions league final, Liverpool vs Real Madrid. Liverpool on the cusp of winning the biggest trophy in Europe. What happened? Their keeper bottled it. Klopp half protected him from the media but knew he'd never rely on him ever again. What did the owners do for Klopp? That's right, they backed their man and spent £66m on Alisson - £66m on a goal keeper, notwithstanding what they'd already spent on VVD. What happened the following season? Oh that's right, they beat us in the champions league final with that man in goal. The ownership had absolutely everything with Liverpool getting over the line.

Now what did Enic do on our road to European glory that same time? They broke the premier league record for not signing a single player for an entire calendar year. Now before you say, "but muh shiny new stadium cost a lot of money", if you're in the business of football and you have to sacrifice footballing matters for an entire year with a squad already in decline, at best that is poor planning and at worse, gross negligence. Poch got us to a European INSPITE of Levy and Enic, not thanks to them and they rewarded him with the sack the following season.

Keep apologizing for Enic & Co, enjoy the Beyonce show and do let me know how fast the go-karting track is.
Nice one mate , you should post more often

How fucking more gradual can you get, by the time holes are plugged, others will leave meaning plugging away again, it's never happening.
I am intrigued,as to, who the next stooge is, or should I say manager, in any case same thing.
The poor cunt, will be in the same place in around a years time, under investment in the squad, and players bottling big games.

Every manager is bothered by their own outcome.
Not strictly true, some earn the right of self-determination such is their status in a particular club. Sure, most take it too far but that doesn't take away from the fact that they are seen as the club...Fergie for instance...and on the 'take it too far' side there would be Wenger. Happens with players too...and we have a shining example of it.

Unfortunately, our manager that should have earned a decent status with us was betrayed by ownership AND supporters...and judging by your stance against his return and the reasons for it I have a decent idea where you stood back then...and I could probably add 'wrongly' to that. Now we are that which we were before him and have been since him. Isn't it grand? I'm enjoying my fellow fans 'getting their club back'. Can't wait for Simeone next!!!!

Watch us not do anything for two weeks, lose to Everton and then sack him. Can see it coming a mile off.
Problem is nobody of any note would want this awful job....another nuno type is what awaits...cheap and available because no one else wants them...someone who will do what they're told...under the present owners, we can't let our expectations get the better of us...that way lies madness...

That's why poch will be back, he knows the limitations of the club, and knows that even though he won't win anything, and it will go wrong some of the blame will be off him.

That’s the reality for any club, at least any one that wants to be competitive.

The only difference with us is that we were negligent in keeping up with the maintenance required compared to a lot of other teams. This forced us to spend bigger and faster, but we’re still playing catch up and made some significant mistakes along the way.

It‘s like neglecting service on your car. You’re still going to have to pay at some point and the repairs will probably cost more.

I'm not sure what the consensus is whether Conte was right to say what he did or not.
If he has brought up a genuine problem that needs fixing then he and the club decide to decide do they want to solve it between them or run away from it.
Conte runs away if he forces the sack or resigns. Enic run away if they sack him and kick the can down the road.

Ideally they thrash it out between them and solve it. But I suspect that won't happen.

If Conte had true courage and fire in his eyes and heart he would stay and fix it by making or breaking these players. The same applies to Enic by backing Conte, not sacking him....that's the easy way out.
How come you have such a hard on for Conte? Do you enjoy watching the crap football he's serving up?

Not having a pop but who are the managers realistically we could get other than going back to Poch .We will have to get someone who would be here for a few years and that seems to a problem for most clubs when a serious task is on hand .
I'd be happy to give up a couple of years while a young manager came in, shipped out the shite and the unsuitable, and built something up.

One such person I'd be intrigued to see doing the job is Mark Van Bommel,, who wouuld come with the added bonus of despite being 45, if he pulled on the boots, he would be our best midfielder

How competitive are we or do we want to be?
Yes we know, that, the team has been neglected it's very poor from those involved.

Oh has he apologised for our pathetic exists from all cup competitions under his tenure? Of course not never his fault. As he said fans pay a lot of money the least he could say is sorry, got it wrong and will learn for next time. Again course he won’t as he doesn’t give a shit about the fans, club or playing decent football. If he did he wouldn’t set the team to play some of the worst football ever! Certainly not what you’d expect from a manager getting paid what he does. Barry fry ok but a sophisticated Italian manager?
Further as I’ve said before has ever spoke to the fans about his dreans and ambition for the team? No! Never said he wanted to produce an exciting winning team the supporters could be proud of.
