I think it could be argued we are a Leipzig level club. Not in history certainly but bobbing around behind the biggest clubs.

We’re not a genuine big club, like Bayern.

In terms of status, we’re closer to Hoffenheim and Leipzig. We’ve been hiring ‘super’ managers when we’re not a ‘super’ club.

We’re not like either club in any way. We’re a regular CL club, with a decent history, 60,000
fans every week and huge income streams.

The point I’m making is that, like it or not, we have a lot of complex big personalities at the club, and Nagelsmann has clashed with multiple people at Bayern, so how will that more blunt aspect of his being fit in at us? The recent history of all our bigger managers is ultimately clashing with Levy and co. and a growing toxic environment.

I’m honestly quite curious as to how so many people think that Nagelsmann is some kind of magical answer to our current situation. His time at Hoffenheim and Leipzig was impressive but those clubs are very different to genuine big clubs, where the strong and leading personalities are many and complex. How would he cope working with the direction and restrictions of Levy, whoever is DoF and other club personnel? Can he get credibility and buy in from key senior players like Kane, Romero? Poch knows the politics and the people. If he’s refreshed and ready to work within the set-up and take us forward coaching and growing youth as well, isn’t that a more logical option? Nagelsmann seems to have a lot of the personal naivety of AVB and his falling out with players and staff at Bayern are a huge red flag for me.
I wish we would be run like Leipzig

depends what your expectations are really.

personally speaking, I'm fine with a transitional period if it means we absolutely get rid of the numerous deadwood (and even the 'star' players like Kane and Son if that's what's needed) and target up and coming yound players who are already good with the potential to get better.

I don't care what anyone says the nucleus of our squad is good. Romero, Porro, Udogie, Spence, Skipp, Sarr, Bentancur, Bissouma , Kulusevski, Richarlsion is a good starting point.

If Nagelsmann is brought in for that purpose with the objective to remain somewhat competitive in the short term with the long term being to eventually start properly competing again and it's clear he gets what he signed for then I'm good with it.

I don’t disagree with most of that. I think the main question is whether he’s going to clash with players, staff and directors as he has just done at Bayern.

All true. But the real pulse of a genuinely ‘big’ club is the realistic expectation and delivery of silverware. We certainly do not have that.

We’re a lovely proposition. Beautiful club with exciting prospects, but we’re firmly in the second string.

That’s why someone like Nagelsmann could work. Your point about his personality is valid though. Although being arrogant might help with someone as insufferable as Levy.

I think Levy needs to do this Very quickly if nagelsmann is the one he wants. His start date can be June if needs be.

Think I'd rather stellini and mason rather than just mason to see our the season.

Yes. Agreed. Something must have gone very badly wrong personality-wise at Bayern. Levy just needs to try and really get into Nagelsmann’s head and do a bloody good interview… if indeed we are going to talk to him.
Pure guesswork, but I think the fact that he has broken up with his girlfriend in the same week suggests that there was huge personality clashes between Nagelsmann and the board, and they disapproved of how he conducted himself ‘in life’, not just football.

Perhaps he needs to grow up a bit and stop believing his own hype.

Nothing wrong with getting someone with a point to prove though.

we have to wait the end of the season, see where we are and what competitions we are going to play next year.
if we finish 6th, with the conference league to be played, with the kane's issue, we could afford at most nuno-like coaches

So apparently Nagelsmann split with his wife last year and started a relationship with the Bayern Munich BILD correspondent.

He has two young children that live in Germany. Can only imagine it would not be an easy decision for him to move to England at this stage if sharing custody of the children.

Top shagger though.
That's all we need!
