Well, I for one, would much rather play in a CL final and lose than win an FA cup or League cup trophy. In fact, I'd rather end 4th and qualify for the CL than win an FA cup or League cup.
The only 2 trophies that really count in England nowadays in the EPL and CL titles.
Season 3 What GIF by On My Block

Rather us get a permanent manager sorted before season ends. Then it's done and dusted. Very important we get in the top 4 as more attractive to candidates.
So we need to sign a manager before the end of the season and top 4 would be more attractive to candidates, even though we won't know if we will have finished in the top 4 before the end of the season.

Which is why clever Levy just now put out this rumor that Spurs are willing to pay €100m for a CB :D

Liverpool and Tottenham are ahead in the race for Antonio Silva as they angle a summer move for the €100 million-rated defender.

According to Give Me Sport, Antonio Silva remains a massive target for Premier League sides in the summer. Liverpool and Tottenham lead the chase for the €100 million-rated defender from Benfica, who has been a rock at the back for the Portuguese side.

First of all, if Nagelsmann was set to join Spurs he could simply be signed on a pre-contract. But it hasn't happened.
Yes, any club signing him now would have to pay Bayern a heft fee but, as mentioned above, Spurs could simply offer him a pre-contract.
But Spurs is not the only club interested in him, so it's not that simple. Clubs lik Real M., Chelksi and PSG may be looking for a new head-coach...

But why would Nagelsmann do that? He will probably get a better offer in the summer

You must be one of those fans who lives in the past when the FA cup (and even the league cup) was a big thing.
How many players who've joined top clubs in the EPL have said, "I joined x club because I always dreamed of playing a league cup final" ???
All players with ambitions wanna play in the CL.
Something you and a few others on this forum apparently haven't understood yet.

They do, yet players like kane still want to leave clubs like tottenham to win cups elsewhere

I'd like Harry Redknapp to get it... If only to REALLY piss off and confuse Jamie!

I see he's been ripping into us tonight too!!

Pity HE couldn't have justified his criticism of us with performances FOR us ON the pitch!

He was as mediocre as Sherwood... Yet now making out he's an expert on where it's all gone wrong at the club!!

We can ALL point the finger of blame at Levy... But we didn't ALL sign his big fat contracts and then play total nothing while we took his money!

I have heard people saying Enrique would be good, not for me, huge risk, I can't see that appointment working out well at all.

I think the only real option that will get this club moving in a solid and functional direction is Nagglesman (that's even if we can get him here) Poch will be the "feel good" hire but it will end badly imo.

We need a fresh start, new ideas and a long term plan for success, involving youth and a club wide strategy for player recruitment that will allow the manager to focus on managing rather than trying to force players into a system.
