mancini is an attacking coach and his teams play a very enjoyable football
he has good relationship with the players and the journalists, and he is able to start a technical project (see Inter, Man. City)
Yeah. Mancini is a very good coach.

The question is if we want to get him right smack dab in the City vs PL trial that is going on. Because you know that the media will hound him about that.

I think that under a different manager and with some prep time, people will be surprised by our players.

Not saying that they will be world beaters to a man. But they are under coached and under performing. And we have a relatively young squad.

I am inclined to agree.

For whatever reason Conte did not seem to be able to create any real sense of fluidity or coherence.

Let's see what a change of coach snd emphasis can bring.

Son, Kulu, Bentancur, Richarlison, Porro, Royal all have potential to improve.

I am not sure about other players who have been below expectations this season. (Exluded ones who have been above their level)

Don't write Bissouma off yet. He had COVID during preseason, a few niggles and his game is the opposite of what Conte wants from a midfielder. Doesn't mean he wasn't one of the best CMs in the Prem last season, he's been criminally mismanaged and unfortunate so far.

I don't think it's in anyone's interest to carry on with Italians at the moment.
We can't have 80% of the home crowd fed up with "Italian football" before he even takes his first game.
I'd add Portuguese to that too. AVB, Mourinho and Nono have all been as dour as you can get.
it sounds a bit superficial, not all italian coaches play in the same way (look at de zerbi)
the same for portuguese coaches

that's a good point, it's better to avoid those links

Madrid doesn’t feel like the right club for him after Munich. He should be careful about going to one of those clubs. Mind you the links to them might be just his agent using them to get a better deal with us?
And what makes us the right club for him? Very similar player power structure and lack of vision, only here it’s average players who hold the cards not world class winners

Slot would be a great get as manager.

He's kept two sides competing at the top of the Eredivisie, developed young players and implimented fun to watch attacking football at both clubs. And is on track to win Feyenoord their first league title since 2017.

People will probably be underwhelmed by the appointment, but I think that he would be a positive surprise for everyone.
These are the kind of left field appointments we should also be looking at. Us finding the next exciting manager, instead of a Brighton or Brentford. Not saying that Slot is the one, but we shouldn't be afraid of appointing someone like him, if everything about his work indicates he would get us playing the way we all want.

Some fans will be up in arms, but that'll be quickly forgotten if he gets the team playing exciting football.

I actually meant Bissouma and not Bentancur. Bissouma didn't really impress but as you stated, there were clearly factors contributing to that. Bentancur was on course to be player of the season before the injury.

Don't give fans too much credit. Especially Spurs fans. They could watch a miserable performance under Poch where we lose and think "at least it was good football" and then moan we're boring under the likes of Mourinho and Conte because we won 3-0 with "only" 45% possession.
The problem is, you end up with a bad atmosphere in the ground because fans are acting like babies. And that just festers into the team, into the coaching staff then the media.
It's probably best just to avoid it for now IMO.

On a related note, Di Zerbi plays almost identical tactics to Conte. I'm sure after a few weeks, the usual crowd will complain about us playing a back 5 (neither coach plays a back 5 unless under pressure) and boring football because we don't have "a creative midfielder"

Luis Enrique: "I've not looked at any Spanish media since the WC. I only read English press... I would like to work in the Premier League but I want to go to a team that can achieve important things. So far I've only had offers from national teams, no clubs."

I suppose getting top four is important.

We don’t exactly look like an attractive proposition for top managers/players do we? Given the last few years, how will the club convince managers that this time will be any different to the circus since mid-poch?

Which will, to be clear, attract exactly the wrong kinds of candidates.

We will hire the most credible public face an overpriced contract can buy, to bluster the club's way through Harry Kane's last contractual season on the idea that if you don't admit the problem, it isn't real.
