I will never understand the people like you and your need to defend Levy,
It's very strange, isn't it.
A handful of people, on a Spurs forum, with this desperate, unhealthy urge to defend and apologise for some multi millionaire businessman with a self confessed indifference to football who couldn't give an actual shit about them.

🤷‍♂️🤷‍♀️

I’m defending the clubs record. The club’s league form under Poch was the second highest period of finishes in its history. It followed a period of sustained improvement that any organisation would be proud of.

Last three and a half years have been bad and I’ve said that clearly. If only ENIC haters would admit our excellent footballing progress over 18 years just as clearly. Instead theres denial and deflection

From 2004 to 2012 through sustained investment, shrewd transfer market dealings, the rationalization of club operations and ruthless accountability for managers ENIC's Spurs went from a club pretty indistinguishable from an Everton or Villa to one untouchable by clubs like that.

From 2015 to 2018 amid literal negative expenditure on players Mauricio Pochettino created an unheard-of explosion of growth in the market value of his modest squad. Lead into gold, water into wine stuff, utterly beyond comprehension and having absolutely zero to do with the way the club is managed.

In the five seasons since the spell was broken by the unprecedented executive incompetence and betrayal of Summer 2018, Spurs have not exceeded Andre Villas Boas' league point total from 2012-13.

There really was a period in which Daniel Levy piloted the course to better things, but it's long in the distance now. As I've said many times, what he's done since vis a vis the club's infrastructure is create a platform upon which greatness can be achieved, so long as the leader isn't him.

I see so many fans say we should cash in on Kane and Son...and what? Trust Levy to replace them? He spent £50m on Dembele's replacement. He spent £50m on Eriksen's replacement. £30m on Rose's replacement. £60m on Kane's understudy/potential successor this season. Almost £200m on 4 players who have done nothing.

I would rather trust in Kane and Son for one more year than trust Levy to replace them.
excellent point

mug no. 2 or your on Levy's payroll

When we're out of the European places and Kane is signing for Newcastle on a free in July 2024, we'll miss today.

We're still running on the fumes of the Poch Miracle. Not for much longer.

Yeah. No.

He’s off to Man United for probably 65m. Levy wants 100m

but he’ll take that next January. And it will be January 1st because ten haag isnt fucking about. The deal will be signed in june. And it makes sense for them as Harry wont have kicked a ball in the cl.

It’s not like we have been winning 🥇 with Kane and Son anyway. Maybe they are part of the problem because they’re both mentally weak losers.

We need new hungry blood all over the pitch.

Not sure either of them are the reason we haven't won any trophies.

Think it's pretty likely that both leave the club without winning so maybe we find out.
I said they have been part of the problem, both as most important senior players lack character.

Lloris
Dier
Sanchez
Davies
Hojbjerg
Lucas
Son
Kane

These are our senior players, could you imagine that group players dragging a team over the line to win them a major trophy?!

Getting rid of them all could be a great start.

This doesn't make any sense

So let’s say we sell Kane and Son for £120m combined, you think Levy will be able to replace their usual 50 goals a season? You trust him to identify the right player?

When we sold Berbatov and Keane, they were replaced with Frazier Campbell and Pavlyuchenko. When we sold Gareth Bale he was replaced with Erik Lamela.

I’d rather continue with Kane and Son that trust a football amateur like Levy to find suitable replacements.

And some Spurs 'fans' still think Levy / ENIC aren't the problem

:mourshock:

They also played some of the most boring and turgid football seen at our club since Terry Neill was in charge!!

They're 'win at all costs' managers, not just 'serial Winners'...

We laughed at 'Boring Boring Arse-nal' when they WERE boring (yet still winning) ...until they DID start entertaining, AND still winning... and their chant was laced with irony!

Oh The IRONY!!

We, as a club, have become neither winners, nor entertainers (though I suspect we're providing plenty of 'entertainment' on the back pages right now!)

We are, however, a fucking mess!!

...anyway, I think I digressed from my original point!

Good progress but excellent? No

I can give props to Levy, he’s clearly no Mike Ashley and done solid 7/10 job but that can only take us so far. He’s out of his depth now, a one trick financial account and his lack of vision and leadership is taking us backwards. Easy to think we are 4th, overachieving but you must be a maniac not to recognise the here and now bin-fire and the likelihood of a complete football meltdown increases

Bollocks , what a trolling cunt .

You defend Enic's record not the club .

Before they took over we were still the 4th most successful club in silverware even after another prime wanker Sugar .

Stick that up your duckbum bidet

Good post. What other fans of a big club actively wants their best players sold. Possibly to a domestic rival. It's absolutely absurd.
You keep your best players, and use your financial muscle to invest in the quality of player fit to compliment them rather than Hotels and cinema's etc...

This is such an emotional reaction for so many reasons.

You and I don't know what will happen in the next year, football changes quickly - as unlikely as it may look right now, you could be looking at a change of manager, DOF, infrastructure etc...you can't just bemoan the fact that things are shit now and that things won't ever improve and I sincerely hope that someone will have s plan for this club eventually, we might as well sit here and think about our pending relegation whilst we're at it.

Either way in your scenario they still need to be replaced, so what's better to have money to replace them or to not have money to replace them.

You're only reacting in the moment because we are in shit's creek right now but you'd rather be £120m richer having to replace 50 goals a season than not.
