not sure about that, certainly not next season. Chelsea and Liverpool will have finished their rebuilds, Newcastle will be spending hard and Brighton will continue to grow probably.

Woolwich
Liverpool
Newcastle
Man United
Man City
Brighton
Chelsea

All of these could have better teams than us next season and in the case of Brighton simply be much better run.
We're better than Brighton and Newcastle. I think with Conte gone, as long as Mason and Stellini elect to pick players on form rather than bromance/commercial then we will finish above both. Newcastle are massively over rated and hardly win games. I'd rather have the points now than the games in hand when they won't win that often.

We have Bentancur, Bissouma, Royal, Sessegnon, Perisic, Richarlison, Lloris, Davies all injured. It won’t be an easy run in and Brighton are well coached. Newcastle yeh maybe they are on a slump right now.

The bigger issue is next season though.

Richarlison and Lloris are fit. Doubt Perisic will be out long. Rumour Sess isn't far off.
We also have Danjuma now Conte is gone. Watch him get minutes and probably impress.
It's gonna be hard, but i actually think a lot of our players are capable of digging in now for 10 games.
All of the teams chasing us have to play us too. Normally I would write off any points at Anfield but they're beatable at the moment.

I don't think any coach worth having should have us outside the top 6. We're a fucking mess, but we're still at least a top 6 side. I expect any coach joining will be told that is the bare minimum expectation.
I'd take some years of rebuild if it benefits us in the long run. All of this "band-aiding" of the past couple of seasons have made this club look like a mummy...

I'd be concerned that allowing too much of a drop off to rebuild will put us too far behind to catch up again. United getting bought, Newcastle being 2-3 years in, Chelsea may come good again. We need to balance the rebuild with staying competitive

Too soon for kompany imo. He’s doing well at a newly relegated side in the championship, yeah they’re playing some nice stuff but would at least like to see how his side does in the prem first. I’ve seen Norwich sides walk the championship playing great football over the years then come to the premier league and get battered every week…

That is completely valid and the obvious risk.

I would like to see us give someone like Kompany a chance, but accept that I can’t whinge if it all goes tits up.

Yeah, this would be me for the VK appointment.

I'd be behind it, even if not first choice. Would accept the risk but really, as we saw with our recent appointments, experience hasn't made any of them less risky. It's probably a bigger risk for Kompany than Spurs.

Liverpool are beatable but not when it comes to us.

Huge week for them and my money right now would be that if we get 4 or 6 points we will not lose ground to them by April 10th, even though they will have played 1 game more than us in that period.

I like the idea of giving a manager a chance. Burnley - Tottenham.

That's a massive jump.

Rangers - Villa is maybe par and look at Gerrard.

I think we need someone a bit more established at the moment. Not a big name per se but someone who has PL/similar level experience

I just think there’s a middle ground between a “win now” manager and someone who’s only achievement is doing well in 1 season in the championship.
