The shit show we have endured over the last three years makes you realise what a brilliant job Pochettino actually did.
100%

Dragging a tired and over stretched squad to the CL Final and getting 4th spot when Kane was out for most of the business end of the season, with the likes of N’Koudu and Llorente leading the line with injuries and other absences, was an absolute miracle.

And that was across the extended Wembley lease too, with Levy tightening the purse strings.

How anyone can judge that season as bad is beyond me.

But of course, the internets knows best!

If the club is looking for the option of least risk the it’s Poch by a mile.

- knows the club and Levy
- knows some of the players
- can work with youth and plays a brand of football Spurs fans mostly like
- most Spurs fans have affection for him
- brings identity

even Poch brings risks notably don’t go back to your ex so no appointment we could make is risk free.

Everything is a risk
The bolded bit is the reason to not get him!

"I wouldn’t do that. It has turned out to be a graveyard for coaches. Whoever has been a coach in recent years, there is not a single coach who has been able to keep above water. [Except] Pochettino, the rest are all served."

How can it be a graveyard for coaches if Pochettino didn't fail? If it was that bad, surely he wouldn't have been able to succeed either, no? So maybe, just maybe, the problem is the manager? Just spitballin' here...

Yes, Poch went on to PSG, Mourinho to Roma. Bullshit article that. I think that Mourinhos and Contes failure will make it easier for an unproven manager to join us, as there will be less pressure - nobody is expecting them to win anything anyway.

A new challenger approaches.

I am assuming when you say unproven you mean someone from a lesser league, rather than a complete and utter unknown with zero track record. If so, then that is exactly the manager we need right now. Not only less pressure, but more patience too. No one is going to sort things out in one transfer window. Whoever it is, however, it better be the best damn unproven manager out there.

I think Kompany is a good choice. The way he was able to completely change the identity of Burnley in less than a year is nothing short of incredible.

Nice Post.

I guess both sides of the spectrum perceive things differently if we're honest.

For example, as one of the more vocal advocates for regime change, it always seems to me that those like me seem far more angry and upset after a poor result, whoever the manager, than those whom we politely term 'regime enthusiasts '. To many of us, these guys seem to just shrug the loss off like it's just a minor issue to them and they ain't too bovvered.

The complete opposite to how you see things :roflmao:
can you please name those who "just shrug the loss off like it's just a minor"

I think managers are starting to realize what a shit proposition we are...

Nexts season apprentice staring uncle festers little brother and host of unheard of numpties who know nothing about Tottenham or Dig a hole Dan.

Tottenham is a bigger club but if Levy keeps on with whatever he has - the opposite of the Midas touch - no manager of any reputation is going to want to work for us. If you can be Antonio Conte and come in with promises of plenty of backing and, well we saw what happened - what hope is there for anyone else? You've got to figure out the team and outsmart Levy as well?

Agree. If a coach is too scared of the board before they’ve even been asked to an interview then job done by ignoring them. I would expect nothing short of absolute confidence in their own ability to turn this around.

Fair enough - as I said, I just get that impression from reading some people's posts, but maybe I'm misjudging them. I guess time will tell - hopefully the new guy will do well and those same people will be as gleeful as the positive fans. :)
I don’t think anyone wants a manager to fail , many just presume it’s what will happen unless the status quo changes

Widely reported by media now that Poch is going to Madrid. The one quoted is Argentinian, however I think Marca and AS (Real Madrid medias, normally tier 2 in reliability) also said something along these lines.

It most likely gives us a clear run at Nagelsmann, bar any Chelsea surprise.
