If Chavs do opt for Luis Enrique then Nagelsmann does become a realistic target. He’s not getting the Madrid gig, so it only really leaves PSG.

I actually think we would be a good option for him. His bollocks have barely dropped so he still has plenty of time to manage these super clubs. And even if it doesn’t work out, no one would hold it against him as almost all of our managers fail.
Why not Madrid? Seen him linked in a few places

If De Zerbi and Nagelsmann have doubts coming here then there's zero point trying to convince them. We should want the next manager to actually want to come here and not just take 15m a year and feel like they're doing us a favour in some way.

Leaning towards Slot now.
1000% agree. The manager as a figure not of Spurs but meaning to change and revolutionize Spurs as sort of a leveraged buy-out is not a dynamic that works, we've seen it twice now, we'd be nuts to try it again.

He doesn't want to be here.

It's either Potter or Poch for me. Nagelsmann would be a decent choice too but just can't see it happening.
I feel like I'm taking crazy pills seeing the notion of xGraham after how not-ready-for-primetime he clearly was at Chelsea and how De Zerbi instantly pushed on what he'd done at Brighton.

Potter is a Chelsea reject mediocrity, get the hell out of here with that.

Nagelsmann won the league at PSG
Poch won it at Bayern

Oh wait, it was the other way around.

They have almost identical records as winners at clubs where winning is a given.

Poch took Spurs to CL final, Nagelsmann took RB to CL SF.

I'd be happy with either but JN def doesn't have a more proven CV.
Gone right off JN tbh, no better track record then Poch yet his ego can be multiplied by infinity. If he prefers the Chavs over us then f**k him, the last thing we want is another manager who comes in by default thinking he's better than the Club.

In answer to those who argue why would any manager want to come to us I'd say why not? PL is the big apple these days and where else would a prospective candidate have the bonus of taking up a job where the owner doesn't give a flying if we don't win anything as long as we finish top 4.

If we give any manager the time and patience, the love for the club will naturally come along. Style of play matters before anything.

I know this is an unpopular opinion but it doesn’t have to be someone who is begging to come here. I would argue that can actually be a negative thing

Potter won't last a season at Spurs. He had his chance and absolutely fucked it.
We thought exactly the same about AVB when he was sacked by Chelsea before the end of his first season. We were wrong, he was a nobody.

Just no Daniel. No more Chelsea rejects, especially this one.

One thing you all need to be very wary of is we're now fully infamous for failure.
We're not going to be top choice for most coaches worth having.
If you limit the search to coaches who "want to be here" you're picking up noobs with absolutely no experience at all. Most of them will fail spectacularly.

He doesn't want to be here.
Sure; that may well be the case. And if so, it’s obviously not an option.

But the suggestion is he’d like to manage in the PL and if not Chavs, who’s he waiting for? His star isn’t that high. I don’t see him as a shoe in for Dippers or UTD, and it might be years before they’re available anyway.

There’s too many managers about and not enough chairs to go around.

You are totally correct.

Julian Nagelsmann thinking that taking Shitty Old Spurs and trying to get Levy to change is the savviest career move for Nagelsmann Inc. is precisely what I do not want.

Levy will want it. Kane will want it. But going back to that dynamic only deepens the chaos and mess that are stopping any forward progress.

I see what you’re saying.

If there’s even the slightest hint of Nagelsmann making demands or suggesting he’s only interested in certain conditions, then he can categorically fuck off. Like you, my main concern is to have someone managing us that thanks their lucky stars everyday they walk through the door. It’s part of the reason I’m drawn to the likes of Kompany; for his evident professionalism.

But, with Nagelsmann, we shouldn’t make the mistake of assuming that his applying objective criteria and favouring Chavs is the same as him not being drawn to us. The two are not mutually exclusive.

Of course, it’s down to the board to tease this stuff out at interview. And we know, following Ten Haag, how sensitive Daniel’s tastebuds are.

Agree. I wanted Naglesmann 2 years ago, i initially wanted him this time when Conte was imploding as well but on reflection it doesnt feel right.

He's lost his dream job at Bayern so in his mind what comes next is a step down, he clearly prefers Chelsea so again we're another step down from that. We know this attitide doesn't work. We need someone hungry that wants to be here and improve the club not just their reputation or someone that sees it as a 'filler' until something better crops up.

Cant say the going to work to Bayern on a skateboard or Harley really does it for me either tbh.
