Eddie Howe making a complete mockery of Conte by the way, getting the best out of the likes of Willock, Almiron, Burn and Longstaff

Yet we are led to believe that our players are useless and uncoachable...really?
God knows I agree with you, but at a certain point when you've had a revolving door of managers that have ALL been let down by the same players and the same problems over and over and over, at a certain point it just needs to be accepted that sometimes change for change's sake is necessary.

FFS, unforced errors and defensive howlers by the likes of Dier and Sanchez were driving factors in Poch getting sacked, much less Conte. The problems are just never properly addressed and mediocrity keeps getting rewarded with new contracts because Levy's transfer demands are so unreasonable and out of step with player quality and contract status.

Agreed but in the context of what kind of job Conte did this season the likes of Howe, De Zerbi, Emery etc... leave him for dead in terms of doing their actual jobs and coaching their players.

And the second any of those Newcastle players fail they're out the door and they know it, that's inextricable from the nature of their success.

Jose got a tune out of Dele and PEH for a bit. Conte got a tune out of Royal and Sessegnon for a bit. But at Spurs the inevitable downturn always falls on the manager, and we've got players who have lived to tell that tale 3 times now still collecting their wages and waltzing onto the team sheet every week. Shit, 4 in Lloris' case.

Not even the best manager this season.

He could win the champions league next season and he still wouldn’t surpass what Clough did.
I'm convinced at this point that Clough could be cloned in a lab, spend his entire life being meticulously groomed for football management, and go on to win everything going to a degree that humiliates all managers in the modern game, and still some old English fogeys will complain about how he's a poor imitation of the original and not fit to lace his boots.

It feels to me like Clough has outgrown his own accomplishments and it's mostly legend and nostalgia for a by-gone era at this point.

I don’t think what Clough did can be overstated.

Taking a team in the second division and beating that Liverpool team to the title and in Europe, and then winning two European cups in a row is unheard of.

What's even funnier is Eddie Howe is now at the richest club to ever exist. So he's got it easier than any other English manager that has ever came before him.

If he doesn't win a trophy at Newcastle, he's been a colossal failure.

Just watched their goals against Everton.

You can see they are playing with a proper feel good factor and genuine smiles on their faces.

Interesting to see how they add to their squad.

Getting into the top 4 next season is going to be very well contested.
It’s pretty much all over this season after 33 games.

Battle is for 5th to 8th. Shit musical chairs game..

Doesn’t 5th place next season get CL for the following season?

If we had a manager who could have done that for us this season we'd easily be ahead of them.
