If whoever we bring in wants to play a style of football that requires any level of ability on the ball then half the squad will have to go. Can you imagine some of our lot trying to play one or two touch football? Would be a disaster. I mean not that it isn't already, but just there's no way a possession-based approach will work with this lotI truly dont get the viewpoint our squad doesnt suit Slot so dont bring him in. Does that mean we're keeping this squad together? No one is getting a tune out of most of these players. Whoever comes in we need a massive clearout. If Slot favours young players at least he's on the same page as our transfer philosophy unlike Mourinho and Conte which is why they were never going to work.

Was thinking about this and I have this list:Levy is very reluctant to get rid of players because he knows he has to take a financial hit. Very few of our squad have the capability to play the high intensity extreme pressing game that Slot wants. How many of our players under 24, extremely fit, willing to relentlessly run and press?
That smells like Potter or Rodgers."The club is looking for a project manager to rebuild them, they’re looking for someone willing to be in it for the long haul." - Alasdair Gold
Why?Oliver Glasner has to leave Eintracht (don't ask me why!!!!) - I could actually imagine him as a good manager for us!
"someone willing to be in it for the long haul."
The absolute nerve of Levy/ENIC.
I wish I could confidentially say that surely Levy and the board don't think anyone is getting a tune out of some of these players, but then again it should've been clear after 1, maybe 2 managers, yet we somehow made it to 4, and those players are still here.
Maybe Levy could start by being in it for the long haul when hiring managers"The club is looking for a project manager to rebuild them, they’re looking for someone willing to be in it for the long haul." - Alasdair Gold
The fans might have to accept that's going to be how it is for a season or two if we have a clear out. Maybe it's a good opportunity to focus on a cup run.And if we finished 9th or 8th a couple of times with some truly shocking results in-between they gonna stick by him like arse did arteta and ignore the fans cries for blood?
Like fuck will they
Agree.Would be nice to have some stability back, and not change manager every 12-18 months.
Not sure if the wider fanbase can stomach a proper project though.
Was thinking about this and I have this list:
Porro, Spence, Emerson, Romero, Udogie, Sarr, Skipp, Bentancur, Bissouma, Gil, Richarlison, Kulusevski as the 12 in the squad suited to high intensity pressing.
That doesn’t mean you keep all or that others can’t stay but there is more than you would think at first.
Klinsmann, Hoddle and Redknapp would do it,Trouble is, which manager of any worth will work under Levy, we have seen Jose & Conte fail
only a coach that is desperate for an EPL job will come here
Porro and Udogie cannot defend in a back 4 that Slot uses as a formation. Sarr and Skipp are squad players and not really good enough to be the main two in midfield. Richarlison is a massive flop so far and Gil is nowhere near productive enough for an attacker. Kulusevski in a highly intense press? I'm not sure about that.
Emerson, Romero, Bentancur and Bissouma could work.
Agree.
The fanbase should be patient with the manager, but not with Levy.
A progressive manager needs to be backed with quality young players. We need some big windows to compete with the top 6, forget top 4.

Or Carrick
That's where coaching comes in, just because they cannot do it now doesn't mean they won't be able to ever do it in the future.
