It's not about coaching, it's about being willing to put in that extra physical effort. It's mentally and physically draining to play that way especially if doesn't bring the success demanded. That's why it works better with young, fit, hungry players who prepared to train and run for the cause. The profile of player we sign will have to be able to do this, as well as having a high technical ability.

Yeah, so coaching

Porro and Udogie cannot defend in a back 4 that Slot uses as a formation. Sarr and Skipp are squad players and not really good enough to be the main two in midfield. Richarlison is a massive flop so far and Gil is nowhere near productive enough for an attacker. Kulusevski in a highly intense press? I'm not sure about that.

Emerson, Romero, Bentancur and Bissouma could work.

Like I said, not assuming suitability, just age profile.

The back 4 thing is given way too much importance. Trent can't defend in a back 4 and Liverpool won the lot with him in a very intense, pressing system.

Until we see first hand what Slot does with this squad we are guessing, even if we agree that players don't look a good fit.

When they don't want to work, run, train, they know how to take a step back and just put in the minimum effort to get by.

Who told you that then?

Have our players been poor this season? Yes
Have our players been severely under coached this season? Yes

Doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that football players respond positively to good coaching, just like our players did last season.

Trent is an attacking assist making freak, and Liverpool had an exceptional Robertson on the other side plus Van Dyk and Allison. Our defenders and goalkeepers are nowhere that level

Levy is very reluctant to get rid of players because he knows he has to take a financial hit. Very few of our squad have the capability to play the high intensity extreme pressing game that Slot wants. How many of our players under 24, extremely fit, willing to relentlessly run and press?
You could have said the same about Poch when he came in, you change the squad, buy younger players and bring through a couple of our own youngsters. As it stands Romero, Porro, Udogie, Spence, Bentancur, Bissouma, Skipp, maybe Kulusevski could all be options to build on and take it from there.

To help we have a lot of players coming to the last year of their contracts, it should focus a few minds to get what we can.

Conte under coaching? A guy who has won everywhere he goes all of a sudden cannot coach this group of players? Or is it possible they had enough of him and his fitness drills and prefered an easier life with another coach?

Why did players stop responding to Poch, they no longer listened to Mourinho.........like I said when players decide they have had enough of the guy in charge they stop putting in the effort and are no longer coachable.

We have gone through Poch, Mourinho, Nuno and Conte in the last 4 years. The culture of the club now is that if the current face doesn't fit its ok because the club will get the next mug in.

Read what I said again, I acknowledged the fact that Conte coached the team well last season but this season but this season the coaching has been non-existent so there's evidence that our players do respond well to coaching as the likes of Davies, Dier, Kulusevski etc... all improved last season.

There's no science to it, players don't just turn un-coachable just like that, there's always mitigating factors however over the last few season we've hired coaches who aren't renowned for improving players and if they are they improve in the short term, not the long term. It comes as no surprises that the nucleus of our team who are young start to drop off when the coaching drops off.

You may dislike Conte but at least he dared say what the fans have seen and been thinking for years
