I wonder if it was a case of, levy was hoping that slot would walk from the Netherlands to London for the job.
Thus hoping he would walk away from feyenord, meaning we didn't have to pay compensation.
If you want your man pay up
If you want your club to be successful, pay up and back your man.
Don't pretend to the fans, that you want to put things right, when your actions show you have no intention of any of the above.

Levy gets excited by paying less for good things.

The quality of the thing becomes secondary for him in comparison to getting a thing for less than it's worth.

He does want good things but not if he has to pay for them.

The idea of Slot was his chance to prove everyone wrong and that he's right. He could go and get a top class manager for less than market value because they were from a lower league.

Problem is, that club saw him coming. Everyone does now.

You can tell this is his mentality from all this talk about bringing in a data model like Brentford and Brighton. He is determined to prove the entire world of football wrong and win things his way by paying less for good things.

Mourinho equals Cnut in my opinion.

Levy can be called into question on a few fhings but that arrogant, admittedly sometimes brilliant but often divisive Portugueae wanker can keep his knives to himself.

Long live THFC.

Honestly, I kind of understand where he was coming from and frankly I don't think anyone really feels any affection for him either.

If the past few managers are anything to go by, I'm expecting the below to be announced shortly...

That or we're down to Levy in a wig

He didn't even say anything bad. Covid and no fans obviously meant that he didn't have anywhere near the same chance to develop a connection with the fanbase as he did at other clubs.

And how he talks about Levy is just as how people talk about Levy here.

This is Jose having a kick at Levy while he is down.

We didn't pay compensation for Mourinho and Conte but we did pay them up to 15 mill a year which is not small peanuts. Not many managers in the world were earning more than that. Paying 10 mill compensation for Slot and 6 mill a year over 3 years is kind of the same overall as a package. So money is not always the problem.

Paying 20 mill to buyout Slot would have been just as wrong as paying 40 mill for Porro and 60 mill for Ndombele. We are a badly run football club in terms of wasting money on the wrong managers and the wrong players. No efficiency whatsoever.
I'm not saying it makes sense, but it's there for all to see.
He won't pay a bug release fee. He just won't do it.
The £20m number is either made up, or the opening offer.
If you want something, you negotiate.
But he has no bottle.
At least with players, he has a coach putting pressure on him

I think Levy would buy out a manager as long as it was very cheap. As soon as hiring Slot became expensive Levy gave up.

He still refuses to adapt to the new reality that we are the 9th richest football club in the world.

Oh no he knows that is the reality, we spend like a big club

What he refuses to accept is he is out his depth and that he needs to step away from the football side of the club and let people take control from him

That's why we spend money on shit players and hire shit expensive managers who don't fit the club DNA

Cause he think he knows best, nothing will change until him and Enic fuck off

I genuinely dread to think what next season is gonna be like if we last minute appoint a manager with no time to get ideas across and players in.

Especially when Kane leaves and he will and I don't blame him

Of course the longer this drags on with more and more names linked the more it will undermine whoever is eventually appointed if its not someone like Naglesmann. They'll look like they were the last resort and have zero respect or authority. Just like Nuno.
And don't forget that when Levy's next victim is eventually selected; at that moment Chelsea will juxtapose Pochettino just to rub it in how shit Spurs are and how much ambition we lack under these owners.

I mean, Nono was last resort and didn't have anyone's respect or any authority

The only people that liked him were the idiots on here that excuse everything Levy does.

It's gonna be Brenda.... Lol, the enic brigade are simply delusional. Wonder if they will finally wake up to reality when even he says no? Or are they just being paid by levy to try to stop the grumbling of discontent, uphill battle eh boys.

We will be expected to see a loss next season and with levy's death spiral this is likely to be a long term trend. With no Kane and a limited spend and a manager who is gonna be another questionable choice how bad can this get.

Very is the answer.
