Well I obviously disagree. 20 mill is outrageous for someone like Slot. This club has got to stop overpaying for the wrong players and managers. So much money has been wasted over the last four or five years its criminal. If this is a sign that things are changing then it's a good thing.

It’s not outrageous he is their manager under contract. We would do the same probably more so. A manager is the most important individual at a club, if he is good like Poch was it will transform us next season.

We could have gotten Poch for free, have given Naglesmann his DoF choice but no apparently Slot is the main guy. The man we build the future around and now we have flunked it. This is exactly why we fail because we have no plan.

For the want of £20m for our first choice we could end up with Brendan Rogers and be back here after another 12-18 post sacking.

Peanuts compensation, £2-£4m IIRC, on coaches that probably earned that a year initially.
Mans a fucking tight weasel.
He also has absolutely NO bollocks to go for his first choice, no matter where they are or how hard it is to get them out of their club.
Easy pickings. Every time.

We paid 5 million for Redknapp in 2008 which was a lot back then ( 15 mill was our record player transfer iirc)

Ramos was his first choice to replace Jol and Sevilla didn't make it easy to get him.

Look I don't like Levy and want Enic to piss off asap, but there is no point in reinventing the past to make a point which some fans seem to be doing. He has done plenty of wrong things at the club and his time has long been up.

Just go and get fucking Potter.

Not sexy, not orgasmic. Won’t be a thrills and spills revolution, but would be a very sensible evolutionary option. Won’t spend every week pissing his pants to the press, he’ll just get on with coaching footballers and trying to improve them. We might have a couple of years outside the Champions League but at least we’ll have a team that’s had a couple of years proper coaching in something other than a fucking bus park.

Honestly can’t believe we had Poch, Naglesmann as options and fucked it. Then totally fucked the Slot option. Level of incompetence is mind boggling.

Can we just hire someone so I can rationalize how they will be a good hire and have hope moving forward? The no manager clown show is probably the most exhausting thing.

As long as it’s not Rodgers that is.

It doesn't matter that Naaeslmann may cost the same amount in compensation as Slot
Levy won't pay it. He will pay wages but he won't pay fees.
Like transfers, he'll pay the fees, but he won't pay the wages. The package has to be within budget.
If he found out he could get Pep, right now for £25m a year, he'd pay him. If he had to pay £10m to city the stupid cunt would pull out

His dad should have done the same

But he did pay both the package and the fee for Ndombelly which was quite considerable

I think Levy would buy out a manager as long as it was very cheap. As soon as hiring Slot became expensive Levy gave up.

He still refuses to adapt to the new reality that we are the 9th richest football club in the world.
This. Its pretty clear we thought it was the £6m that had been bandied about. We'd have paid that and we might well pay that for Postecoglou. I never understand this approach though. Have your target and go and get them. I mean £15m is what we paid for Djed Spence to get the most important man at the club. They dont have any confidence in their own judgement thats the problem .

Redknapp was a somewhat unique situation for Levy though. We were in real danger of relegation.
Levy even backed the fuck out of him in the January window, to make sure we stayed up.

I'd say that would be the only time he might go for a currently employed coach again and pay the release clause.
Let's not forget that Ramos and Redknapp appointments took place "3 decades" ago now. (00's 10's and now 20's)
The only coach since then we have paid for is Poch and that was mega opportunistic and 2nd choice,

Embarrassed for people who keep changing their vote every time the social media winds turn, maybe you’ll be 5th time lucky! :adegrin2:

I’m sticking with Poch :pochunimpressed:
