Has to be Potter at this point REALISTICALLY. I can look past Chelsea as I dont really see it as a potter problem who was only there 5 minutes.

Does anyone know about Potter and his background staff more indepth? Can they scout a player? Or was that more brightons own set up.

The only way this club succeeds is with young cheap talent and “wheeler dealer” common sense buys like a scott parker/VDV back the day

I don't know about Potter's team and what they can do, but Brighton's recruiment is Bloom's thing. He has every metric on every player and every league available...and then some. I've had the chance to spend time with him a few times and he absolutely knows what he is doing. He wasn't letting Potter make a single player recruiment decision.

Potters CV is basically:
7ish years with a Swedish team. An impressive rise through the leagues. With a chairman convicted of fraud and dodgy accounting. Twice. In a country which, at the time, was absolutely rife with match fixing. Which is clearly speculation, but the dots are there.

A mediocre season with Swansea.

Improving Brighton from the Hughton version (but being shown by the next guy up that the ceiling was higher).

Chavs disaster.

Hard pass for me, still.

Not really. He's better in practically everything.

You wanted Slot right? Well Ange is probably a better coach. I preferred Slot to him because of age, proof of rebuilding and playing youth but Ange is good.
How the fuck can you say that he is better than slot!!!! Who the fuck has he managed. Fn Celtic in the Mickey mouse league while getting humiliated in Europe!!! Australian league - it's fn crap! And the Japanese league with the biggest team in Japan.....

He will get humiliated in the prem and look like a fn rabbit in the headlights. He will have 3 months tops.

Ah right, I get you now.

Tbh, I said as much when Slot went to pot. How whoever we get in charge now will undoubtedly know they weren't first choice.

However, I think has a much bigger personality than Nuno did and I think he'd be able to get Spurs fans onside quite quickly with his words and passion. Whereas Nuno always sort of felt grateful he manages to stumble upwards and never quite seemed confident he would do anything worth of note here.

As we all know though, it'll be the football on the pitch that determines everything else regarding his tenure.

i wish it was byt he will get less patience from fans whilst trying to get that football right. Probably less from Levy as well.

Club using social media and their PR to test the waters with managers names. Vote against it. They are deliberately gauging fans reactions.,

lol herc saying that but ill be honest, i can see it and what a shitshow by levy

He was backed that summer with his signings Ndombele, Lo Celso, Sessegnon and we are still paying the price.

Anyway he had had enough, he was simply exhausted and finished after the CL final and the previous 4 seasons, new stadium, playing at Wembley etc. He literally had nothing more to give and the break up was correct for both parties. Unfortunately because we have a moron chairman we've gone backwards since Poch left
I think the demise of the squad started before he left . No one can applaud the self imposed transfer embargo. It was idiotic

Are we really falling out, over 2 of Levy's 'patsy' managerial targets, in a dick swinging contest?

Make friends because......

If he were worried about fan reaction he'd appoint Poch, Naglesmann or even De Zerbi which is why i'm surprised he hasnt. Would have bought him another couple of years. If its a lesser name and they're terrible then he's stuffed. It will get horrible.

Yeah look at this career, he's fucking amazing!

Standards are dropping fucking fast.

1996–2000South Melbourne
2000–2005Australia U17
2000–2007Australia U20
2008Panachaiki
2009Whittlesea Zebras
2009–2012Brisbane Roar
2012–2013Melbourne Victory
2013–2017Australia
2018–2021Yokohama F. Marinos
2021–Celtic
Is that much worse than managing Nancy, Monaco and Grampus Eight over 12 years prior to the Premier league?

Actually, yeah, it probably is

Any examples of names being linked that you would be disappointed with?
Someone you would think "fucking hell, this really is desperate ", or would you basically be happy with anyone willing to take the job?

The idea that Postecoglu is too old to manage in the Premier League at 57 is silly.

That's usually the age that a manager does break through as a big name. The world has just been spoiled with a few prodigies breaking through at younger ages.

Ten Hag is 53. Klopp is 55 right now and I don't think that anyone would argue that he is past it.
