In all seriousness I wouldn’t care if Levy wasn’t shit at football. He could pay himself £10m a season if he was competent.
He’s paid less than Fraser Forster or Davinson Sanchez. I think he’s having more impact than either.
Also the data excludes Ferran Soriano at City. Do we think he might be earning more through legal or illegal channels?

Narrative
The significant drop off in performance under ENIC has been in the FA cup. We have historically been excellent in that competition but under ENIC we haven’t even reached a final.
Results in the League Cup have been strong under ENIC. We have reached more finals on 22 years than we did in 40 years before they arrived.
We have never competed with europes elite in the Champions League as consistently as we have done under ENIC. European competition has not been the norm in our history but it is now.
This is a bit ridiculous to compare as historically far less teams qualified than they do now.
This season hasn’t finished yet.
Do you see the clear proof that league performances under Poch were the second highest in our history?
Do you see that Levy has overseen a dramatic and sustained rise in performance since he took over compared to what came before?

It clearly shows we were a midtable club for the first decade until ENIC lifted us out of that into a club regularly playing in Europe which has not been the norm in our history.
Not been the norm isn’t exactly correct. It is arguably easier now (PL era) to gain a European place the before the EPL. And yet we managed it 14 times.
You can pull up stats to make any point. Judge it with your eyes I.E what has been played on the pitch in the last few years. Isn’t good is it?

That’s a fair comment. I was trying to be descriptive.
But of course EVERYTHING needs to be contextualised in the same way. Winning the FA cup was a lot easier to do for upper midtable teams pre Premier League era. We haven’t won the FA cup since the PL era and that has coincided with increasing inequality and state-backed clubs who ignore financial rules that constrain the majority.
