Gutted Poch has actually gone to Chelsea. A small part of me thought, especially after Nagelsman and Slott, Levy would pick up the phone. Reckon he couldn’t stomach the rebuild.

It’s going to be Mason.

I have a feeling.

A summer of speculation and then… Mason.

Mason and the deadwood plus no stadium sponsor.

True, if your sole focus is on what have they won and where.

We've done that to death, and all it's really done is take us further down the rabbit hole.

I've followed Postecoglou's career since Brisbane Roar. I can't stress enough just how impressive his managerial talent is. Whilst the Australian/Japanese/Scottish are not near the same level as the Prem, it doesn't change the fact that he's taken 'also ran's' and turned them into champions. Everywhere.

He makes teams better, he makes the players in those teams better. He has a 100% record on this, and that is where the focus needs to be.

Denigrating his abilities, because he hasn't done it at the highest level, is arrogance of the highest level. Let's not forget that Wenger was managing in Japan when the filth took him on. Granted he managed Monaco before that, but the French league, at the time, was a poor one. The Portuguese league isn't one of the top leagues in Europe either, 7th in the FIFA rankings. That hasn't stopped Amorim from being on the wishlist of many, nor did it stop Mourinho from developing into one of the best managers in the last 20+ years.

We've had some of the best managers in World Football fail here. To compound that, the Football they've had us playing has made our eyes bleed. Whilst I can't and won't guarantee that he'll make us Champions, I most certainly will guarantee that he'll give us a team that'll play Football we'll all love watching.

I'm nailing my colours to the mast now, I want Postecoglou.
Thing is that is all well and good and you can’t knock his success in those leagues. However , I said it in an earlier post , how comes no PL has been in for him this season. Everton , Leeds and Leicester went for the typical English old school managers.

This summer highly-placed people at Spurs have to sit down and properly articulate the identity of the club and the style of football they want us to play. From there we need to get in a DoF and manager who will work well together, then begin to clear out the squad - we have too many players past their sell by date, not quite good enough or plain average. We need to make 4 or 5 big signings - a left back, midfielder who can pass the ball forward, left sided centre back, goalkeeper, and then a forward depending on what happens with Harry. It's a really big job ahead and this time the bigwigs at our club need to get it right.

Jury is out for me on whether they will.
This summer they have had 2 years to decide and basically all of this year since cunte didn’t commit and Pat got banned in jan.

He wants someone good but pliable so he can play DoF when he wants to.

Thing is, nobody really wants head coaches deciding every transfer. Just look at the mess Klopp is making since Edwards left and he's unfortunately an elite coach.

Any coach coming to Spurs needs to be more flexible than going to Bayern or Real but he will know that from his RB days.

what we don't want is the ball chuckle brothers making decisions on transfers either.

Dont forget, Postecoglou was able to beat Partick Thistle and Dundee United without resorting to playing 11 men behind the ball. Truly a tactical visionary and someone we have to appoint immediately...
It’s 2008… Guardiola manages to finish top of the regional Catalan 3rd division with Barcelona B.

ElSpaggyBoy says « oh great…he’s going to be Barcelona manager and he’s managed to beat Balaguer and Igualada playing some fancy football with the support of one of the richest club’s academies… not gonna raise my sangria to this cunt ».

Do I think he’s going to be Guardiola? Of course not. But whether he’s any good or not can’t be determined off what league he’s just won…he’s either good or he’s not and I suspect neither of us has a clue.

So?

We should pass up a manager who fits the bill because those 3 didn't go for him? You expect him to leave Celtic, mid way through their season, to go to one of those 3?

Are you joking?

Allegedly he was Brighton's first choice, but they brought De Zerbi in when they failed to get him.

Would that at least make you pause to think that maybe he's got the chops?

He’s the type of punt a mid-table club make because it’s worth the risk, but no top club (other than us) would do it because they can attract more proven options.

Really that simple. This would be a move of desperation. The desperation might work, but it’s still fucking desperate. He’s 5 years older than Guardiola is NOW and Scotland is the highest level he’s ever worked at.

It’s a Jesse Marsch level appointment.

Brighton never make sensible decisions mate.

Wasn't Nuno appointment completely out of nowher until a few weeks before signing, we went through alot of bookie and press favourites before then

So we may just end up with some random person we haven't thought of

You have strong opinions based on reputation. How many times have you watched Celtic under him?
