Ex-Spurs Player Harry Kane

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

A bigger reason we have not won any trophies is that in the bigger games kane has continually failed to put in a match winning performance.

Our CL route to the final was largely in part achieved due to the fact he wasn’t playing. The final he did fuck all.
Spurs couldn't have got out of the group stage without Kane's contributions to the matches he played. The idea that Spurs got to a final because Kane wasn't playing is absurd to me, especially since he came back fresh off an injury to score a banger - and Spurs' only goal of the game - against Dortmund in a KO round.

Spurs got to a CL final by using up a decade's worth of luck from the rest of the squad, not by having Kane sit out. Repeat that Ajax tie another hundred or more times and Moura doesn't come close to a hat trick in any of them -- we know how limited he was, apart from the very occasional moment of brilliance. That CL run was Spurs' version of Leicester winning the league, but, in true Spursy fashion, this club's lightning strike didn't lead to anything.

Must say you are the first person I have heard credit Kane with our performances at the etihad and Ajax arena.

And it may seem absurd to you to credit other players. But he didn’t play in those games. He didn’t score or assist any of the goals.

May have been occasional moments of brilliance from moura but the fact is he did it that night. Not kane.

I guess you credit Jimmy greaves with England winning the World Cup and a Geoff hurst hat trick. The username has become clear to me.

And I doubt Man U wouldn't make a big enough offer (he's worth to us more than £150m plus it strengthens a rival) for him this year especially when he would be available for free next season.

Which means he stays.
My bet would be that he will stay for another season and leaves on a free in 2024 (unless we will see some spectacular progress under the new manager, but a new contract seems very far away at this point).

I'm praying he stays. I really am, as we are fucking doomed without him.

But realistically does anyone see Levy letting him go on a free next summer?

Every fibre of my being says Levy will accept a lowball offer of £60m ish late in the window rather than get £0

Yes only because this season has been such a disaster to sell kane on top of that then a bad start to a season with a manager the majority don't want would create more than 100m worth of issues.

He didn’t credit Kane at all for those performances.

No one can realistically deny that both city and Ajax outplayed us and we took our chances and snuck through twice on away goals. We were even lucky about the Aguero offside as he didn’t gain an advantage from it and it was poor defending.

“The idea that Spurs got to a final because Kane wasn't playing is absurd to me,”

“Repeat that Ajax tie another hundred or more times and Moura doesn't come close to a hat trick in any of them”

So the moura hat trick was due to who?? Doesn’t matter it was a one in a thousand event. It happened.

The fact is kane didn’t play and we won football matches.
One of them due to an unbelievable hat trick by moura.

Should be pretty obvious that he won't leave the Premier League this summer (regarding some Real and indeed Bayern rumors).

Not so sure, the idea in football that you don't say no to Real Madrid is pretty strong.

If Real did go hard , we might have a battle on our hands. FWIW, they are dropping 100m on Bellingham, my guess is they might think 50m on Richarlison keeps Ancelotti and Vini/Rodrygo sweet and still works for the budget.

If they don't, he's here next season IMO bc Levy will never sell to Man U.

Seems to be getting some steam.

Extension aside, Real is the best possible outcome. Miles away from our rivals, he wins loads and we don’t get it rammed down our throats.

Him staying and signing an extension is the dream, yours is the second best option.
And let's be honest, not all extension scenarios are created equal.

Imagine a one-year extension with player options for an additional two (or more) that includes a 50M or something release clause valid every January.

Essentially writing into contract terms that Kane is committed to the club one window at a time and not a moment longer.

Is that REALLY a better outcome than getting 90M out of Madrid right now and moving on to the inevitable future?

With Shearer’s record in sight? Don’t see it.
If I dreamt hard, 2 years in Madrid and then come back to the EPL for a crack at Shearer but I can’t see it happening.
I think you’re right.

And it might be petty of me, but it does seem a little unambitious to turn down Real (if that is the case). It’s, without doubt, the ultimate football accolade - lead the line for Real.

To stay and go to UTD on a free seems like the safe option.

Anyway, who knows. I’m going to try not to get wound up by it, as it really is down to Kane and Kane alone. So no one knows, other than him and his daft brother.
