Manager Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

Do you seem to forget we had a manager in charge of us that won the Champions League with two different clubs ?

How did he do here?
Just because Mourinho didnt work out, it doesnt mean we need to scrape the bottom of the barrel that is the scottish league for managers. If there is no guarantee for managers to work out, you try to choose the best option possible, not give up and just accept anything.

Guardiola proven at the best clubs before he joined city. Klopp proven in the german league and Champoins league before Liverpool. David Howe has a ton experience in the PL and PL manager of the months before joining Newcastle. Arteta was Guardiola's apprentice at the best club in the league. The best 5 clubs in the country are picking proven managers.

Even Poch had plenty of experience in spain and in England. Redknapp tons of PL experience.

Suddenly we are not going to pretend some random 60 old australian who has worked in a league, b league, j league, scottish league etc is now the answer because Mourinho didnt work out for us.

People are talking themselves into accepting a mediocre appointment because they are buying into this whole "Big Ange" character. This is the Premier League and not some sports movie where the unlikely hero lifts the team to victory by his unique blend of folksy charm, yelling at the players to give more, and brilliant unorthodox tactics. Waiting for this guy to get announced as manager is like waiting for a pardon from the governor. I'm afraid there won't a last minute reprieve from "Big Ange".

Just a word to those of you looking forward to Angie as your manager.

If Angie was as brilliant a manager as the Scottish press portrays him, then it stands to reason that I, as a Rangers supporter, would be ecstatic at Spurs luring him away from Celtic.

Well, I'm not.
Quite the opposite, in fact, I'll be right pissed off if you do sign him!

Angie has been extremely successful with Celtic in Scotland for two reasons:
Scottish football was once decent in comparison to the top leagues. Today the Spfl, while not quite a pub league, it isn't far off.
And when you add uncontrolled amateur bigoted refs into the mix then any quality the league once had evaporates.

If you want to judge Angie's quality as a manager, you can't look to his accomplishments in a bigoted Scotland or in a Japanese league, judge his tactics when Celtic play European opposition with refs who aren't bigoted.
Celtics results in Europe are embarrassing and Angie's tactics are naive - even against teams who aren't in the top leagues.
At best, Angie's managerial skills are at a mid Championship league level and that's pushing it.

If Spurs pick him up I, as a Rangers supporter, will honestly be extremely pissed off.
Ange, to make a long story short is - sh*te!
As a Rangers fan, you would be pretty happy with the administration of your club in the past decade or so?

Well any prospective managerial target will either run a millon miles, with the Benzema/Kane news, see it as a chance to create a team in their image, without the Kane debate, or seek significant reassurances.

i don't think it's now an easier 'yes' for anyone.

With Kane going, and guys like Ndombele and Winks returning, and with this guy in charge, we may just hit rock bottom relegation zone by Christmas

This guy is literally Jacques Santini mk 2

Fuck me, Winning isn't why we are brining him in??.... So we want to lose? Do you think he can bring through great players because he brought through??.. do you think he has form on a budget? 50m at Celtic the highest amount they've ever spent!!!

This is the fucking premier league. There are hundreds of managers who have managed and played in proper leagues and play GOOD football who know what they are actually doing. You are talking about a guy who has nothing like that on his CV.

For fucks sake Celtic have won the league and have had a goal difference of 50+ pretty much non stop for the last decade. Do you think those managers weren't playing attacking football?? Seriously do you?

They had one bad fucking season, he comes in spends a fortune (for them) and they go back to what they were achieving before? They are scoring the same amount of goals! They've actually not done as well points wise and have gotten humiliated in Europe.

I am spurs, I want to play our way and have not enjoyed Conte Maureen or Nuno, but I know we need a proper manager to achieve what we want.

I've said this before and will say it again - I watched his teams in aus - the football is shit there! Download a fucking game and watch it. Winning in the spl is easy when you have so so so much more money.
