His Celtic teams look good. Not just the results but the football looks really easy on the eye. My concern is, its one thing to turn Celtic into bully boys as most of the clubs aside from Rangers can punch back. But in this league, forget Woolwich, City, United, Liverpool Newcastle, teams like Villa, Brentford & Brighton can all throw punches.
Ange has got more football knowledge in his toenails than this whole board combined.

You think he doesn't know this? Really?

I imagine the guy will have seen the odd City, Goons, Brighton, Villa, Brentford matches. He'll know what works in the PL and against which teams.

He wasn't my first choice but he's a good choice.

This is pure copium. The way Woolwich move the ball and transition from out the back is indicative of a quality team. Saliba, Saka, Martinelli, Odegaard, these arnt dickheads. These are players who wouldn't look out of place at Real Madrid or Man City & would cost either close to, or over 100m for any suitor. Those 4 are their rolls royce players, but they have additional quality beyond that. They are also going to have another big window. Whether you like it or not, they are one of the big boys.
Some good players and a good style of play. The point is they’ve absolutely bottled it, twice

Fucking pussies

Who was your first choice? I think he’s the best choice we could have made

I can't help but think that some (not all of course) of the more rabid Levy/ENIC Outers who have almost been wallowing in a sort of self-hate in recent times find themselves outside the zeitgeist at the minute.

If we're honest, who ever we appointed would have had a proportion of naysayers - Poch and the idea that second spells never work out well, Luis Enrique hasn't managed a club team for ages and even then it was Messi making him look good, Nagelsmann was a loose cannon, a bit of a weirdo and would have left us sharpish as soon as a bigger outfit lifted its skirt, Potter was another Chav reject, Brendan Rodgers was... well... Brendan Rodgers.

I'm not looking to excuse or deflect from our Chairman's appalling stewardship for a single second. It's just that the story of the day is a new and seemingly hugely likeable face in charge of the team who is known for his attacking philosophy. For me that's enough to press pause on angry fist-shaking, however temporarily, and dare to feel a little bit good about your team for a bit.

Fast forward to the start of August, Harry's about to leave and no one of note has been signed and the howling and gnashing of teeth will be fully justified, but as Doris sang, the future's not ours to see.

Potter

His team created more chances than you could throw a stick at. With Kane and Son, you'd be looking at lots of 4,5 goal wins. Welbeck less so.

Last 15 or so matches at Brighton - scoring for fun, winning for fun, top 4 points easily, lost 2 matches (one v Citeh). With Welbeck!

Last 3 seasons, under Hughton they were relegation threatened and playing appalling footie. Got them gradually up the table and were in 4th when he left. Playing great footie. I could see him taking us from 8th and playing cack to top4 good footie winning a cup and challenging City for title.

He knows the PL well now.

Good record wherever he's been (barring Chavs) and a great record in Sweden. Got their equivalent of Macclesfield to the PL and a cup win.

Very good at making the best of what he's got. Develops kids well too I think. Decent bloke too.

I'm happy with Ange, would have been ecstatic with Potter.

Ange is taking over at a time we are a total mess from the board down to an ageing , reasonably poor quality squad , with a want away superstar.

All those saying you will be regretting it after 6 games are basically saying our points tally will be poor , no shit Sherlock . I fully expect the first half of next season to have only a few highlights results wise and a fair few beatings . The team he has is poor , Levy is not changing so I do not expect a massive injection of funds , therefore Ange is charged with making a silk purse out of a sow’s ear .

Now just cos I am fully behind Ange does not mean I have lessened my desire for ENIC to sod off, it’s just the guy has got a difficult job as is . I for one as a fan have no interest in increasing his chance of failing by creating a toxic atmosphere after a handful of games . Does this work for Levy , yes I am afraid it possibly does , but even Ethan Hunt said no thanks to managing us . So on that basis Ange gets at least a season from me to show an improvement in the style of football. I think 8th -10th if Kane stays , 10th -14th if he goes . That is not being overly generous , he will need to change style completely on a very limited budget , without Kane we would have been a lot lower than 8th this season .

Play some good football , show a decent level of improvement second half of the season . But Ange does not deserve any stick season one .

Sadly Spurs is a truly poison chalice right now

Maybe. My mate is a BHA fan and they were a bit dull up until the end of his reign as you say…. I think that style remind me of AVB too much and not sure he would have been accepted

Maybe I'm imagining it , but didn't he snub us any way a few years back as apparently we weren't a "top 4 " club! maybe he should stick to Mid table after his Chav spell any way.......

I am fully behind Ange but I will be chanting WE WANT LEVY OUT in the first game. He needs to go, the stale echo chamber should be set on fire

I think it's more the case that we know that Ange will still be shackled by Levy and ENIC and until they go, it almost doesn't matter who the manager is.

Nagelsmann promised to shake things up, Poch would've been a sentimental choice but we'd be almost guaranteed to have some fun, shame about Slot as he seemed to tick all the boxes.

For me this is a huge gamble, Ange may turn out to be great but imo if any of the other Top 7 clubs had gone for him plenty on here and elsewhere would be laughing at them.

Chuffed with this appointment now. Managed to talk myself into why the other candidates were bad...

Tuchel - Ex chav. Looks like a freak.

Nagelsmann - Top shagger. London would have ended him. Probably would have tried to finger Donna.

Slot - Bald with no facial hair. Fair chance he doesn't even have pubes. Wouldn't have worked.

you’re right. Deuterz Deuterz Matt1882 Archie Archie Tottenham Massive Tottenham Massive have all been in here telling everyone not to get excited. All of them are most at home being negative, complaining, criticising…. Boring, toxic individuals unable to find joy in the team they claim to support.

I hope they never find themselves in the zeitgeist again.
