Is Maddsion really an Ange signing?

The whole thing is a little bizarre and a little alarming to be honest because it just seem like it's levy pushing hard for this deal. I mean, have we now abandoned the idea of a DOF??

I don’t particularly rate Maddison or think he fits into Ange system, but he does rely on a very creative central midfielder so fits the mould. Massive question marks over his pressing etc though

I'm expecting quotes anyday now claiming that Ange has held a long term interest in Zaniolo , Traore and Leandro Damiao

Maguire's wages and the stage of his career = Man UTD buy out of he stays put.
We are never paying him even half those wages.

Agree. I’d be amazed if we’d help Man U out by taking maguire off their hands. Throughout the season there’s been noise about them wanting to reduce their wages, why would we help them out massively with that. I suspect if he does leave this season the only way he goes is a loan with an option or obligation to buy. What team will be desperate to take him in the hope he becomes semi decent again?

The Lenglet loan, IIRC, involved Barca paying more than half of his ridiculous salary.

If yanited offered us Maguire on loan for the season, and they paid ALL his wages, I'd still tell them to fuck off.

Aren't the reports somewhat stating that Ange gave the greenlight for the signing? Meaning he was probably consulted over it and approved it?

I think Ange prides himself on being able to improve teams and footballers. You know, like a coach would. Whilst I don't think technically limited footballers like SIssoko would survive in an Ange team, I think players like Maddison would be welcomed by Ange. It's alot easier to get fit in your 20s than it is to become technically better.

I would prefer players like Eze and Scott over Maddison. Simply because I think Eze has a much higher ceiling than Maddison and is a lot more suited to what we would need in a 433 and Scott is young and mouldable in the same way. But if Maddison does arrive, I think he'd flourish under Ange as long as he keeps fit. He's a decent player.

Personally, I don't really get the Harvey Barnes links outside of him being HG.

I'd love to see Hancko in a Postecoglou team.

Has N'dicka committed to Roma?

N'dicka and Hancko would sort LCB. If not N'dicka then Tapsoba would be fine. I'm not impressed with getting Lenglet, no matter how cheap he is. We start playing a high line and he will get found out multiple times in a game.

And yes it needs to be a left footed CB. Not a right footed, it just makes it much easier for a naturally left footed player to play there.

Especially if we are going to start playing it from the back. You need to have option of knocking the ball up the line with a left foot, can't afford to hook it round on the right. Teams won't give you that sort of time to do that. Even then there are still very few right footed CBs that can play LCB available.

ITK is just a bit of fun.

West Ham... Everton?

I would not be at all surprised if we don't get a DoF and we see Levy and Munn “handle” it until Paratici’s ban is over, and then he returns.

If the rumours are to be believed that he's operating quietly behind the scenes of course.
