He's right up there with the goalkeeper Brentford just signed to replace Raya..

I would prefer Raya to Vicario, as he's prem proven and is a safer bet.

However, comparisons between Vicario and Gollini are unfair, as Gollini actually lost his place in the Atalanta team before joining Spurs. Vicario meanwhile is a standout young keeper in Serie A.

I’d be curious to see the finances of you guys that think spending money and product quality are 100% correlated.

Do you make financial decisions completely off the price and always go with the expensive one? If one company offers to renovate your bathroom for 15K and another for 10K, does that automatically mean the 15K will do a better job?

You probably actually do some fucking research first. So go do some fucking research before bitching.

Am I the only one who looks at these graphs and just doesn't see what I'm supposed to be seeing?

Honestly, I could be looking at anything.

First time I noticed these graphs was when we were after Ndombele and my god did people jizz themselves over his amazing graph

Well as you can imagine, now I've chosen to completely ignore them :ange-facepalm2:

I totally agree keeper is a huge position for us but at the same time we can’t let people pull our pants down
In his last year he’s worth 25 mill, and I’m not a levy apologist before anyone labels me, in fact I’m quite the opposite
Let's be honest though Larry. If the asking price was £25million, Levy would value him at £15million.
It's how he operates. How he's always operated.
For him, it's not about securing the best player to fill the position, it's about winning the deal and securing what he perceives to be a bargain.
If we miss out as a result, so be it. His ego outweighs the needs of the football team.

PS. Levy apologist. .:sonpoint:

Kidding . .:dierpochhug:

Of course we should do research, but...

The financial price of a player is driven by the market, which is correlated with everyone's research, no?
So if many clubs and scouts rated Vicario as an elite keeper already, his price would be higher than 20m.

Not saying he can't turn out to be a good buy, but there's a reason that prices and quality may be more closely correlated for transfers compared to bathroom renovations.

I remember people scoffing at the fact we were after a defender from China a few years back instead of spending big money on Skriniar.

Fast forward two years and Kim Min-Jae is a Serie A winner, defender of the year and on course to sign for Bayern Munich.

contract ends in 2024 that may be why and obviously empoli are not in the prem like brentford and 20 m for them is alot

I honestly can't separate in my head what Gollini and Gazzanigga did at Spurs. Gazza flying kicked Marcos Alonso so it's not all forgettable.
Gazzaniga was much better, held the fort down as well as you could expect when Lloris was injured, saved a penalty away to Watford, won us a shootout in the league cup (though Gollini did the same), and kept a clean sheet as we beat the opps in their own yard

So all of Brighton’s gems they are finding are actually bad players because they had low transfer fees? Each teams research is very different and a huge variable.
So if many clubs and scouts rated Vicario as an elite keeper already, his price would be higher than 20m.
But he won’t be any better than he is now if he was bought for 100m. He’d be the exact same player.
