Leicester wanting £60m for Maddison has to be us out surely?

Yes. Of course. Paupers that we are.

To be honest, it doesn’t matter how much we spend on Vicario.

He simply has to be good. All our transfers need to be good.

That’s the standard ENIC need to be held to. Footballing competence.

People still think spend big money is backing or showing ambition, it's such a foolish argument and lacks context.

We have spent quite a bit of money over the last few years but largely on flops and where has that gotten us.

I haven't watched Vicario play but I'm encouraged by what I've read so far, the fact that he has similar stats to Raya tells me that they've done their due diligence this time and paying under £20m should be praised not looked down upon.

Maybe I was thinking 30m Euros. Either way only goes to show that we need to stop hyperfocusing on price and focus on actual quality.

Vicario may well be close to Raya's level for a fraction of the price.
This is pretty much the drum I've been banging for weeks now. It's not about the price, it's about the suitability.

The usual suspects scream about "cheap options" rather than the right fit, like winning the transfer window is the only measure of ambition.

Getting the next WC star, before they are recognised as WC is the route that we should be taking regardless of our wealth.

Also younger than Raya, more time for him to develop perhaps?

The key will be offering them playing time. They're not gonna want to sit on the bench. Really going to have to trust scouts. And the scout will have to be on the same page as Ange.
