This keeper is only a year younger than Raya but he's played in Italy all his career and is currently playing for 'Mighty' Empoli.

Raya is PL experienced, proven quality and even counts as home-grown.

Hmm, hopefully I'll be proven wrong but this would be a very underwhelming signing.

Probably won't be the last this summer.

:avbshit:
Raya only has a year left on his contract doesn’t he?
Wouldn’t surprise me if we have just told him we will offer him a huge signing on fee if he comes to us on a free next season , £40 million with a lot of other gaps to fill seems a lot , I’m quite optimistic in that we haven’t spent all windows trying to get raya
In when he is out of our price range , and we are actually getting players in.

What do you see that's similar to the Leeds keeper?

Not a GK specialist. Just seen the stats, HLs and player reviews, then added in the fact he's 6'4" and meant to be an intimidating bastard and I'm sold.

Big time football analysis guy, you see.
I'm not into the analytics but obviously the eye test, I saw Mesllier do a thing where he sort of half commits and then gets stranded because of hesitation. Few really odd positional stuff from Vicario too. But I admit I am the least qualified when it comes to a keeper.

Ragging on empoli where Raya is playing for the mighty’Brentford’

I remember everyone (myself included) laughing at Arse for signing Ramsdale, the relegation specialist.

I also remember quite recently people moaning (retrospectively, of course!) that we hadn't signed Pope from relegated Burnley.

Who?

Are some people seriously suggesting that Empoli are better than Brentford?

Yeah, three Italian clubs reached each of the European finals but they all lost, two to English clubs.

The standard in the PL is a lot higher than that in Serie A.

Anyway, Vicario it is. I hope he does well but I would've been a lot happier with Raya.
doesnt always mean the players are shit just because they play for them

bet you most never heard of raya before brentford came up to the pl

We will not sign him because we will not pay the money for him. We will ask them to keep us informed.
There is a lot you don’t know. We are interested. We will just have to wait and watch

On Alex Scott :ange-clap:

No reason to be underwhelmed without having actually watched him. Everything points to him being very very good.
