Management Ange Postecoglou

Latest Spurs videos from Sky Sports

We could’ve hired a better no nonsense down to earth manager than this guy who’s won the Scottish league and people pretend it’s some incredible achievement.
This guy is the real deal, he has achieved by winning leagues in Japan, Australia, Scotland and managing Australia's World Cup squad. He is also a no nonsense down to earth manager, just Google the testimonials from all those who have played under him. So maybe we should give him a go instead of prejudging him too early.

Looking at the bright side, hiring someone like Postecoglou may put Spurs on the cutting edge of new ideas and tactics as opposed to recycling systems that worked in the past (Mourinho and Conte). The question I have is whether Postecoglou can (or will) adapt his system when Premier League managers counter his tactics. Based on his Champions League record I do have concerns about his willingness to adapt when faced with squads that have more talent and depth. The oft quoted comment that "there is no Plan B, just do Plan A better" that people have made regarding his Celtic teams is worrisome.

Pretty tough to go deep in the CL when you are managing Celtic mate. Let's not overlook the chasm in class. I'm not sure how far people expected them to go in that competition.

Good move brining Jedinak, wouldn't be surprised signing Harry Kewell join us soon either, any at Celtic because of Postecoglou
As much as I loved Harry Kewell as a player, I would be surprised if this happened. I feel like Ange brought him to Celtic just to take him under his wing, after struggling a bit at the start of his career as a manager. Can't see him being the one he picks to come with.

You convinced me for sure.

Would appear the guy is a born winner. Give him his dues on that.
You can only beat what is put in front of you. Even if it is a bit shite.

But I think he deserves some time to show what he’s capable of.

One thing I would say he’s coming to a club that since 2019 only employs born winners who then win fuck all. So 3rd time lucky. (I have wiped the nuno debacle from my memory)

Hey lads

Aussie Villa fan here and came here to read the comments for some fun as I did when Ange went to Celtic.

I'm sure many will say the same as the Celtic lads did when I did the same and say it's just "because he's an Aussie", "hasn't managed in a league like this before", "has too much of a mess to sort out" etc etc but I can tell you this guy is absolutely the real deal and a serial winner.

From when he started coaching in Melbourne where he took his boyhood club to a title to every step he's taken since, he creates success often completely transforming where he goes in the process.

When he came to my club in Brisbane we were terrible even though we had guys like Danny Tiatto, Craig Moore etc etc with us who could play and were seasoned pro's. He had the very end of a season to assess the club, players etc and then cleaned many out who didn't buy into his "we never stop" mantra. People thought he was mad (a trend that's continued since when he arrives) but he brought through young, hungry players to complement the older players that bought into his methods and Brisbane changed overnight winning leagues and setting records for wins and undefeated streaks and playing some of the best football the league had seen. He's revered here for the work he did.

He then went to Melbourne Victory and turned them into league winners, he then moved to Yokohama F Marinos and did the same as he did in Brisbane taking time in a foreign country where he didn't speak the language, had to learn the culture but turned them around into title winners after a long drought as well with players and fans loving him there too. Celtic was next where there were plenty saying "Ange who" and club has taken cheap option, won't get anywhere here, won nothing etc etc and with no time before the season started, a completely disilluisioned playing group and fanbase and little staff turned them around within a couple of months and made them a completely dominant force on the pitch playing his style of attacking football.

He'll do the same for you and if players don't buy in, he doesn't care who they are, they don't last and players that want to create the right team culture replace them. He's tactically very good, demands high standards from his players at all times and is a fantastic man manager resulting in his players being prepared to run through walls for him. Read articles from any guys that have played for him including Timmy Cahill who is one of his staunchest supporters, they'll tell you, then look at his results EVERYWHERE, he's a winner.

Enjoy him and, as much as it pains me because one of my best mates is a Spurs supporter and he'll be insufferable, I wish you guys the very best. I'll be watching with interest.

So he fits right in…

If what our remaining hope is “third time lucky”, then we’re seriously fucked.

Not sure why you got a disagree for this but it’s only iz futbal iz futbal who knows nothing so don’t worry about it.

Thanks for the informative post.

Cheers dude.

Brings success wherever he goes is what we need! A bit like Conte and Mourinho.

Another day, another Australian who comes in and says how amazing Postecoglou is… It’s like Americans who would’ve came here trying to convince the world that Ted Lasso is a regen Guardiola, if we’d have appointed him.

I don’t get what the big issue is

Australians are excited about Ange representing Australian football on the biggest stage in football. They know much more about him than we currently do.

It’s completely harmless, it’s quite easy to carry on scrolling if you don’t want to read it

I think Neighbours being cancelled has really taken it's toll on some people.

Mention anything related to Australians and it just sends them into a rage spiral.

Why are you constantly bitching about a manager when you've never even seen his teams play before?

Every top manager was an unknown at some point. Conte was in fucking Serie B before Juventus appointed him. If you were a Juve fan you would've been constantly crying on their forum.
