He wasn’t forward thinking under Conte.

Skipp has much more potential than we saw in the double pívot.

I think it’s probably time to let the idea of Scott go though.

If other prem clubs are in this summer it will probably end up 30m to get him
Levy definitely won’t pay anywhere near that for Scott if we are even interested. Our next signing will be a centre back then after that either another centre back or midfielder. There will have to be a bit of offloading before that happens though. Ideally we want our signings done before the tour so players can get integrated quickly. I’d imagine that wont happen though.

Fabrizio Romano, on his Here We Go Podcast, claimed that Spurs have now placed the Burkina Faso-born defender as their priority.

“I keep saying that Tapsoba is a priority target because they [Spurs] love Tapsoba. Tottenham's scouts have been there many times this year to follow Tapsoba. So, he is a player they really love, and they feel he is perfect for Premier League football,” Romano said.

“He is a leader. So, there are many factors in a deal and Tottenham think he is a fantastic option.”

Tapsoba, who pockets £52,000 per week, has two years left on his contract but may be on the move before his Leverkusen contract expires.

What did Rudy Galetti say about Tottenham Hotspur and Edmond Tapsoba?

Speaking exclusively to GIVEMESPORT, he said: “On the table, there are around €25m and the German club is concretely evaluating this proposal. Last winter, Woolwich asked them for him but then now they decide to go for Timber, who is close as well.

“So, the Burkina Faso player [Tapsoba], we can say that is one step away from joining Tottenham. In the next few days, they will push and close the deal positively.”
Missed this.

Is this the same source quoting 25m or two separate places reporting that fee?

Transfermarket says contract until 2026, which is not 2 years. But maybe that’s an option for 1 year extension bc his original contract was into 2025.

‘Worst 16 hours of my life’: Socceroo recounts nightmare flight with Ange Postecoglou

Ange to coach first Spurs game in Aus | 01:58

Emillia Hawkins - The Sun from News.com.au

June 7th, 2023 3:51 pm

Former Socceroos defender Ryan McGowan has recalled the time he sat next to Ange Postecoglou on a long-haul flight, describing it as “the worst 16 hours” of his life.

The Sun reports the 33-year-old, played under the management of Postecoglou while on international duty between 2013 and 2017.

And although he hails the new Spurs boss as the “best manager” he’s ever worked with, McGowan has also admitted that he is incredibly intimidating.

When recalling a unique encounter with Postecoglou on the BBC’s Sacked in the Morning podcast, the defender said: “I’d been up to a bit of mischief with some of the senior boys beforehand, which I now seriously regret.

“I was at (Scottish side) Hearts on my 100 quid a week and I used to put all my coffees on the senior boys’ rooms because they could obviously afford it.

“But I didn’t know they could pick the seats when we were flying from Sydney to Dubai.

“It was the worst 16 hours of my life.

“I got my ticket and it was 1A, business class up the front. I get on the flight, all set up and the next thing Ange comes and he’s sitting right next to me.”

McGowan also revealed that he was subsequently too scared to go to the toilet during the flight, adding: “I held it in the whole way. No way was I waking him up.

“Some of the boys were ordering wine. I was like, ‘just water, thank you’. When we got there, he just up and left.”

Postecoglou was confirmed as Tottenham’s new manager on Tuesday in a landmark announcement for Australian football.
His appointment marked the end of Spurs’ three-month search for a new boss following the departure of Antonio Conte.
Julian Nagelsmann, Xabi Alonso and Arne Slot were all considered for the role, but McGowan believes Postecoglou will get the best out of the Spurs.

The Aussie, who plays for St Johnstone in the Scottish Premiership, added: “He’s the best coach I’ve worked with. He is so distant and so scary, you are petrified of him - I still am. He’d have certain rules that were just non-negotiable.

“As an average player, I liked that. He just told you what to do and you tried to do it as best you could. He was very good at that.

“There are certain managers who are like, ‘go and express yourself’. I can’t express myself at all. Just tell me what to do and I’ll try to do it!”

Current Socceroos coach Graham Arnold has tipped football “obsessed” Postecoglou to again “prove the doubters wrong” by achieving success with Tottenham.
Arnold, who lost an A-League grand final to Postecoglou in 2011 when Brisbane Roar prevailed in a penalty shootout over the Central Coast Mariners, said Tottenham would be a “great job” for the departing Hoops manager.

“I think he’ll kill it (in the Premier League),” Arnold said.

“He is just totally obsessed with the game. It is his life.

“(I) always knew that he had that mentality of where he wanted to go – that was to the top.

“He had a few setbacks but that is coaching. You learn from those types of setbacks and Ange has always been someone that has always (been) so determined to prove the doubters wrong.

“That, in a lot ways, is his motivation. I’m just so happy for him.”

He held his water for 16 hours……and we take this story as true….no way.

I don't think he's been that bad, and I'm a bit surprised they don't want to give him another season, it took him a couple of seasons to bed in at Monaco.

That's Madrid though. Have they ever given any flop time?

Bar perhaps Modric? Who was 10x the player Tchoumeni will ever be.

They have Valverde, Camavinga and Bellingham who are all better than him and still have Modric and Kroos who let's be real, are both better too.

He is a great talent but it’s Madrid. Odegaard isn’t of the level for them so he was sold but is one of Woolwich’s best players. Even players as good as Modric and Bale had to show their worth despite being absolute World Class.

If your not Kane’s level of ability then there is no guarantee you will make it at that club. Their standards are that high.

Unless he's got a release clause (and from what I've understood, he doesn't) I doubt he'll go for only €25m - most probably closer to at least €40-45m.
