So having swooped (!!!) for their desired Onana replacement (who they're seeking to sell for 40/50m) we're now set to be providing the replacement in the form of the guy Vic is replacing..... (A freebie no less!).

Tidy. :)

Fucking hell tho'..... Imagine the absolute riots in here if the roles were reversed!
Yes there would but perhaps if we had won what Inter has, A champions league, 4/3 league titles, 4/3 cups there would be less anger over such a move and far more trust in the regime.

Its funny, Inters No 1 target for Onana replacement has been well documented to be Vicario, who we bought ;) ....

Inter can do one no freebies , Hugo still has 1 year left on his contract 3M Euros ( circa £2.5M) is fair price for a world cup winning goalkeeper ( plus our "CB fund" needs all the help it can get )

Quite. Taken to its logical conclusion, if Dier just dug his heels in 100% then you'd be left using tactics like freezing him out of the squad and making him train with the youth squad. I can't imagine that would go over well with the rest of the players, so wouldn't exactly be a good start to Ange's tenure.

He's got a year left on his contract, right? No Europe, so fewer games. Use him as a bench option/emergency depth.

Would be a better option off the bench ......:crouch:

I wonder how much they’ll be forced to pay?

Was always a non runner with us going for Solomon

£40m would be a tad steep, frankly. Maddison was always the more valuable Leicester target for us.

Newcastle in talks with Barnes so can't see them also signing Chiesa as they both play on the left side of the attack.

Paratici is still around the club on a consultancy basis, right?...

To be fair, he could end up being Gollini mk II.

:ange-hands-head:

I don't think he will, for reference, but it's definitely something we'll be anxious to see work out.
.... but if Inter had got him instead knowing the fact we had real real interest in him, people would be moaning ...

"Oh another we missed out on,poor management, small club mentality.. what great value clever Inter spending only £17M & being decisive got the deal done, thats how big clubs do transfers " .. etc

Apparently exceeded xG in the league by 4 goals last season. Eye test for me with Barnes has always been that he's got a decent finish in him, in & around the box pretty reliable finding the corner. No Son, but not the least clinical wide player about.

I wouldn't have minded him as a squad option but think Solomon is the more dangerous active threat on the ball but won't offer the same goal threat.
Solomon actually had a higher G per 90 and non P XG (know you love that stat 😆) than Barnes in the Prem last season.
