Being able to afford something doesn’t mean the value is there.
Its funny how we act like a big club when it comes to fleecing fans and building infrastructure but less so when it comes to the football side. Big clubs tend to win trophies sometimes and compete in the market for the best players. We're always a big club when its something that benefits them.

People have been priced out for over a decade. Why now are you so upset by it?
In a time when literally everything has been getting more expensive. Surely if ever it’s right now it makes the most sense priced go up?? Especially with supply and demand due to lack of European games. Which plenty of paying spurs fans wished for.
We are going to make less money next year and still be paying for this fancy new stadium we go to watch matches in. You understand that right?

It doesn’t really upset people that much does it? We all still go if we can afford to and we want to.
I do agree with this for the most part.
I think the stadium prices have risen beyond what our spending has on players and wages and there is certainly a disconnect between the two.
That being said, we are always increasing our spending on players and their salaries. Our outlay on this pretty much increases year on year and our average player yearly wage has reportedly doubled since the stadium opened.
Like I said, I would like to see that spending increase on players and wages but much more significant for me this window is spending money wisely on the right player regardless of price.

However we dress this up we are a club who attract “fans” from around the world. That has a knock on effect.
I can’t remember how much I paid to watch Milan v Juve. But it wasn’t cheap and that ground is falling apart.
You go to WHL now and you are visiting a stadium like no other in Europe. Maybe the world. What’s the added value there?
When it comes to things like ticketing and charging fans as much as possible Tottenham are up there with the other big clubs. When it comes to bringing in what the manager needs we tend to act like Luton Town. A classic case of fur coat and no knickers
That depends on the individual. To some a big flashy stadium is part of the experience. They love their bottom up beers and tinnitus-inducing music blasting out at 130db. They may be ok with the price hike.
For me, I go to do one thing: watch football. I couldn't give a flying fuck about it being in a giant glassy Arndale with a skywalk, so the club bumping up prices to help pay for 'the experience' is a shit move. Well, in theory...
I choose not to support ENIC so I decided a while back not to attend games or buy their merchandise, but I strongly doubt the prices would be any different under any other owner who might take over. They're all greedy bent cunts at the top.
The simple fact is that they set the prices and we choose/are forced whether or not to pay.

Sad truth of life - huge corporations usually ask top dollar for their product - especially when they know they have their client base hooked on it.
I will never be ok with it but like you say - unless a huge fan of spurs buys the club and decides they don't care about making any money - I can't see how it would be different with any new owners. Doesn't make it right - just sayin'.

I'm going to a couple of their pre season home friendlies against MK Dons (tomorrow) and Charlton on Saturday week. I get into both those for a fiver, but only because I have a Spurs ST, the Mrs has to pay a tenner. The away friendly game at Farnborough this Sat is £10 each with a £1 admin fee, the wankers.
Actual NL games are around double the price.
It was £20 and £21 respectively up at Notts County and Wrexham last season.

I’ve said it before in my posts that my parents were working class when growing up yet my old man could still take us to football , that’s not the case anymore is it, how many working class families can afford to go to football now a days?
Just because I’m lucky enough to be able to afford to go doesn’t mean I forfeit my right to be annoyed when the club increases prices!
Also a lot of People defending the price increases are also the ones saying we can’t afford to compete with the “bigger clubs” well if that’s the case then charge accordingly for the product!
And the reason I’m discussing it now is because we are in a cost of living crisis and the club decides to charge its fans more to watch the team when it doesn’t need to , the extra revenue generated from events more than covers the loss of European revenue this year!
