I think we can safely assume that we're speaking relatively here. I mean sure, compared to a Sunday League footballer he's basically a god, and compared to your average championship baller he's brilliant, but relative to Spurs Gallagher is a pretty middle of the road midfielder. He's not really going to bring much to the table we don't have.

He plays like he's snorted a line 5 minutes before he got on the pitch though, so surprised Poch doesn't love him.
Oh dear

Use his fee to increase the quality in defence
1000%

Already got Mads and Solo but could do with another sure thing...if Mads struggles with injuries again and with Solomon still being relatively unproven, we're a bit light IMO. Obviously if Kulu recovers from his mad slump, that'd help but...

and let Richy and Son handle no.9 duties for the season.
That's the bit that worries me most. Even when playing regularly, Richy is a 10ish a season. And can Sonny find his shooting boots again? Especially playing more centrally...he's not really cut for it

In the background use the year to scout extensively, and also put the likes of Scarlett and Donley on the right development plan.
1000%. Give the kids a chance. That includes Troy

I understand your trepidation but I think he brings a lot more in terms of attacking output than Skipp does. Could you ever see Skipp score 8 goals a season?

He barely got any game time last season and the season before he didn't have the ariel threat we do so I personally think there is a lot of potential there.

Fair play if you don't.
Even at palace towards the end of his time he was found out, form went. Positionally he is suspect and he bombs forwards leaving gaps. That may be improved.

I don't really rate him and couldn't understand when Liverpool were linked.

Or perhaps we'll go after another Serbian CF, one who's already well accustomed to the PL. Though there's links with a move to SA...

Mitrovic
Vlahovic
Jonathan David

These names are all making me shudder. They really aren’t that much better, if better at all, to justify the expense.

In our ranks, We have a golden boot winner and a player who we’ve invested a huge amount in and has a 1 in 2 record for his country playing as a 9. Let’s put it to the test in a front foot team.

They both had bad seasons, but they also both aren’t wingers anymore IMO.

Regarding Gabi Veiga........

Pini Zahavi could be vital for Tottenham

One of the key figures here is agent Zahavi.

The 79-year-old agent also represents Tottenham midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and recently brokered a deal for Spurs.

Tottenham have snapped up Israeli winger Manor Solomon with Fabrizio Romano claiming that Zahavi completed the deal.

Spurs seem to have a good rapport with Zahavi, who also brokered Jose Mourinho’s 2019 move to Tottenham.

That relationship could be vital for Tottenham in their pursuit of Veiga, possible giving them an edge in the race.

Using your logic , Dier and Maguire must be above average as they are regularly called up for the national team and play in the premier league

That was your exact argument for why Gallagher can't be average

No need to get all touchy
No it wasn't my exact argument at all.
My argument is that your opinion is flawed, and that you have made a poor judgement on his skillset.
His selection to the national squad was based on what he was doing in the league.

Dier and Maguire were selected on what they had achieved in the past, on the basis that Southgate believed they had not let him down.

I know we're not in Europe next season but we still need a strong squad.

Hojberg is sold, we need to bring someone else in. Bentancur is out for ages and I'm not sold on Skipp. That leaves Sarr and Bissouma, not nearly enough

Maddison is a AM, can play as part of a three but only in an advanced position.

Also, we need competition for places to help keep players on their toes. Should he stay, the only guaranteed starter should be Kane and perhaps Vicario unless we're thinking of bringing in another keeper and ditching Forster and Hugo.
Put Devine in or some other young un

This is the perfect oppo to slash the wastrels - I want 15 gone at least

I’d love us to buy him but I think he’s destined for one of the current elite.

Diers form and lack of alternative got him in the squad. He wasn't a Gareth favourite
