If Kane has to leave will that not prove that Spurs, under ENIC, are not big enough for Harry Kane?

ENIC should be selling Spurs to an entity that will retain Harry Kane and attract other players like Kane to the club.

We all need something to get hold of at the moment but Levy's shit 'projects' never work in the long run.
Tbf we have kept hold of harry longer than other players in the past. Imagine if we sold him when he was 26/27? Everyone would have went ballistic!

If Kane leaves this summer I don't care if he goes to Bayern Munich or PSG, and wins a predictable league, does it really matter where he goes as long as it's abroad and we get a good transfer fee for him?

We reportedly paid something like 15-20mil for Spence, right? 11mil for Jack Clarke…

I think it’s worth it to take a punt on young homegrown talent like that every summer or two. You don’t unearth players like Dele or Grealish without taking that leap.

Chuck a 20mil bid in, surely?

Naah, this is not how we roll anymore.
Now it will be like Grealish saga - spot talented player -> fuck around and do nothing -> see smaller competitor snap him up for 10-15 mil -> do some half-hearted try in year or two to buy him from fellow EPL side for 4x the value -> get turned down -> see him joining oil rich club for 8x the value he made the last move on.

Or in more positive option, Maddison saga -> fuck around and do nothing -> see smaller competitor snap him up for 10-15 mil -> do some half-hearted try in year or two to buy him from fellow EPL side for 4x the value -> get turned down -> try again and sign him for 4x the transfer price once his contract is close to be over

:D :D
and THAT is how we roll!

I can understand only one CB coming in right away and the other being contingent on sales, but none so far is depressing. I absolutely certain one will be in before the window shuts but getting them in early and allowing them to settle and gel into the team was the name of the game this summer. Very disappointing again.

That’s more how we stagger rather than roll

Would like him to go to Bayern. More settled and stable club and likely to be there for the duration of his contract. If he goes to PSG, chance he returns to the PL in 9 months and it won’t be to us

Do you have much insight into the deals and what the hold-up actually is?
I don't think any of us do. The VDV and Tapsoba deals are strangley quiet compared to our usual sagas. There's essentially been no change from when we first found out that both players are willing to come.

No two deals are gonna be the same - like you say, who actually knows what is taking so long and what stage the discussion is at.

Are we waiting on the player to make up their mind? Waiting on confirming the structure of the deals? Is Levy sitting there with his pen hovered over the contract laughing hysterically about how stressed the folks are over on TFC forum?

It is really impossible to know. Rice was 'announced' a couple of weeks ago now and still isn't officially an Woolwich player yet.
