That’s pure speculation. There’s so much we don’t know. Too much to say thing like « likely ».You know that aside from being a bit of a tasty player, Diaby being sold to Aston Villa would likely derail our attempts to sign Tapsoba, right?
I mean, it would make sense at least. Leverkusen would surely dig their heels in more (less financial pressure to sell) and Tapsoba is the one with the longer contract.
Either way I really hope we get vdV over the line quickly so this all becomes less of a worry.
A few things contributed to us conceding 63 goals last season; 40 of which came post the World Cup break.
1. Romero only started 27 games. Faking injury before the world cup
2. The introduction of Porro saw our defensive form fall off a cliff. He didn't adapt to the system well, and when Mason moved him into midfield, we improved.
3. Our coach checked out in January once it was clear he couldn't win anything. The squad lacked confidence and motivation.
Sure, Dier, Lenglet, Davies, Romero aren't the greatest defenders in the World - but neither are Matip, Ake, Schar.
The opposite is also true. If they can get a good price for Tapsoba then why would they sell Diaby?
Of course there may be reasons but that’s the point. There are lots of things we don’t know. People need to relax

We should also be able to focus on more than one position. Other teams do. A quick wide player who can dribble effectively would be fantastic competition for Kulu. Two good options for one spot. Is that too much to ask?

The very best teams seem to upgrade when the opportunity presents rather than when they're forced at gunpoint to do so. Probably means you can shift players when they still have decent value too.
Surely Solomon fits the quick wide player who can dribble role.
