Let's talk dream world.. I repeat dream... Coz it won't happen.... We sell 4 defenders... Tanganga, Dier, Davies and Sanchez... We buy 3...Bremer, Tapsoba and Van der Ven. Imagine the flexibility, Royal, Spence or Romero at right back (Porro can't defend, he would be back up to a midfield 3), Any 2 from Romero, Tapsoba, Bremer or Van der Ven as central defence, Udogie or Van der Ven as left back. If Udogie can't leave behind his wing back tendencies you got a 6ft 3 in speedster for back up. (Anyone remember where Gareth Bale started). With that sort of choice at back it wouldn't just make a statement, it would strike fear into every single team in the UK and Europe..... Dream world.

Doherty only appears once in that list but it does not mean that our CB search since we released Verthongen in the Summer of 2020 has been anything but embarrassing. It is some of the most incompetent recruitment you will see.
