Do you even know what the reasons for the delay in the MVdV and Tapsoba deals are? Most people assume it's the money, but even though there is probably some truth to that, I'm not fully buying it's the only reason.

Do we know, for example, that our scouting and analytics hasn't determined that MVdV may have the risk profile of a Janssen making the price Wolfsburg is quoting too high for the risk? Do we know if some other more preferred CB has suddenly become available (e.g. Colwill) and we are following that lead first before committing to Micky or Taps?

People lob the "he's cheap" moniker onto Levy, but one thing we haven't been lately is cheap. So I am finding it hard to believe that the issue is purely money. Maybe given how badly we have spent in the past is making us extra cautious now to the detriment of getting some deals over the line in the timeframe we would have all liked?

The bottom line is that no one really knows. Of course don't let that stop you from calling a cunt whomever you want for signings not happening. Would be really bad form for some on this forum.
The real issue is that the club is once again repeating past mistakes and has no discernible transfer strategy in place. If there was a strategy we would have a CB by now.

Whether it’s money or not, we should have a CB in. Weirdly we were decisive with the keeper, wanted Raya, we were quoted a daft figure so moved to the next target and got it done early - exactly what we should have repeated at CB.

Now we’re taking a lot of players to Oz on pre season bonding that quite frankly shouldn’t be at the club whereas the key new addition we need hasn’t been signed and therefore won’t be on the bonding trip.

However you cut it, whomever you blame it on, it’s just not good enough

If they haven’t decided which CB they want yet, then surely he can deduce what they weren’t doing at least?
Exactly. They weren’t doing what Brighton do so well which is having a ready made replacement everytime they lose a player - there isn’t a Spurs fan alive who couldn’t have told them - “by the way guys, our CB’s are fucking shit, like worse than Everton shit, I think we should be looking to buy a couple of upgrades at CB” a fucking blind man can see it

I can't agree enough with this statement, villa are desperate to get themselves amongst it like Newcastle has.
They have ambitious owners, unlike ours , who are not going to hang around when they sense an opportunity.
I expect someone will inform us that, villa were bigger than spurs in 1878 , and so we shall be happy being where we are.
Is diaby good and what position dies he play? Is he someone we need ?

As I have always said we seem to be blinkered in our player search. If this was available and is better than kulu at everything then why did we just pay what £35M in total for kulu.
There are players out there but we don’t look.

WDF???? You literally just asked "Is diaby good and what position dies he play? Is he someone we need ?"

.......And without so much as an affirmative reply from anyone, you're bitching that we should have signed him instead of Kulu?????

Fuck is wrong with you people????

Agree.

Was trying to work out why.

Maybe keeps players fit to be sold.

But then again, what if Sanchez gets injured?

Look what happened to Sessegnon. We don't learn. I mean a player like LoCelso is injury prone, Reguilon the same, we seem to have some genuine interest in Sanchez so why risk him in games on the tour.

Anyway that squad looks a mess. 4 weeks until the new season begins :ange-bored:

No he is not. Richarlison is the player Conte spoke about in his famous rant We drastically overpaid for him. Technically better than a lump of wood, falls down and feigns injury more adeptly than he finishes. We never should have bought him and Everton took us to the cleaners. I had hoped I and many others on here were wrong but we were not.
So right can add offsude as well and a not a very person to boot bit of a cheet.
