The cult of the manager is so fucking weird. In no other walk of life, other than perhaps theoretical academia, are people fawned over for rigidly sticking to ideals and principles in the face inadequate talent/materials to complete the task at hand per those ideals and principles.

They even get people blaming their bosses for not buying them a nail because they failed trying to hammer in a screw while the screwdriver was sitting there the whole time.
Lovely analogy by the way.

Why does a username have to be relevant to football?

Maybe I should change my name to Sol_Campbell then seeing as he played for us and it's football-related.

I see no problems with this.
It doesn’t but if you’re trying to draw an equivalence between Campbell and Graham then I don’t see it. If anything Graham was stabbed in the back by ownership rather than vice versa.
I daresay most of the complainants at the use of the name never saw Spurs under Graham and never witnessed Graham in his Woolwich days. More faux indignation. Perhaps focus on the content of the posts rather than the handle making them.
We’ve wasted way too much time over a username. This is clutter. Anyone offended can put me on ignore. It’s immaterial to me. This is my last time discussing this.

I seem to remember Bentaleb playing CM, and then Mason too, as the injuries piled up.
Without checking, I think you're remembering things out of order...

Mason/Bentaleb was his first choice midfield for the main part of his first season, after he'd gotten fed up of the Kaboul/Capoue/Adebayor clique and ostracised them, and before Dembele had found his way into Poch's cm affections.

This was before Wanyama arrived, and by the time Wanyama and Dembele were crocked I'm pretty sure both Bentaleb and Mason had been sold.

Bentaleb was gone by the time Vic arrived....

For the most part when the team was flying under Poch it was a combination of Dier, Vic & Dembele switching up between 4231 & 3421.

Either way; a central MF unit who's primary strength was it's physicality.;

That chronology is probably correct (again without checking in detail).

I do remember it took some time for Poch to work out what to do with Dembele, before he became the heart of our midfield & sadly, like Wanyama, (& Sandro & Palacios) crocked too soon.

This also shows that there was quite a long evolution before the peak Poch era arrived.

As well as purging the Kaboul / Capoue / Adebayor group, Bentaleb also got binned for his attitude when coming back from injury, IIRC.

Mason, on the other hand, was a model professional identified by Poch as a key part of the Spurs culture he'd created. But ultimately judged not quite good enough, and sold to Hull.

I'm not offended, it's just a strange choice but whatever, makes no difference to me.

I'm not sure why it keeps on getting mentioned either. I may not agree with your comments regarding our owners but it's certainly go nothing to do with your Username.
