He didn’t mention ENIC. You’re making that association.
He’s talking about self-entitlement across the entire fan base. It exists in all bigger teams.
If self entitlement is thinking the priority in fixing this teams problems is the defense and at least one cb should have been signed by now as the season starts in just over 3 weeks then we have very different ideas about the definition of that term.

I agreed with your initial post, it’s really hard to pick out really outstanding CB’s right now, in the PL or generally.

Maybe, to a degree, that’s always been true.

In the PL, I would say Thiago Silva is probably the best, even at his age. I also like Wesley Fofana but the boy’s really unlucky with injuries. I quite like Konate. Quite like Martinez. Obviously VVD was great but seems to have gone a bit since injury, and I liked Matip but he’s not in his prime any more.

There’s decent ones elsewhere but most have compromises.
Araujo at Barca is good.

Agree on Matip, ended up a let down on how good he looked like he could be.

It will piss people off but genuinely think Romero has a shout to be the best CB in the Prem within the next 2 years.

Made about 5 Championship starts and a few cup starts - so say a dozrn or so starts.

Only turned 18 a month ago so playing wise that's good as he would only have been aged 17 making an impact on Championship ..... and few 17 years olds do that

I wouldn't dispute that, but him going on loan and sitting on the bench for 90% of the season does nothing for him or us (see Clarke).

No self-entitlement is thinking that a team is going to sell you their emerging stars when they don’t have to just because you’re a bigger team.
Now we have the definition straightened out, let’s start over shall we?

From that (tiny) sample, Ashley Phillips looks quick on the turn. It's unlikely opponents wil lbe running him, as they did with say Lenglet last year.

A couple of front foot interceptions too.
Looks to have pace, a good passer of the ball, fairly powerful build, his height means he will win a good proportion of balls in the air and seems to anticipate well and intercept ball.

A lot of good attributes for a CB.

Still just aged 18 so a couple of years to go but looks a top prospect

I WANTED A CENTREBACK BEFORRRRRE THE TOURRRR RAAAAHHH
This wouldn't make the poster entitled. For example I want Jennifer Lawrence before my girlfriend gets back on Saturday. I have zero expectation this will happen. I think it's odd the level of importance some place on fans sounding off on the internet.
Entitled: Chambers
believing oneself to be inherently deserving of privileges or special treatment.

The above definition really does not sound like posters in this forum I have read.

I mean…tbf I don’t think it’s unreasonable to have got our main cb target in before the tour.

Would’ve understood getting that one in and then securing a second during/post tour.

I’m pissed off that we haven’t sorted that yet. Two good cbs (or at least 1 excellent and another with high potential) and that would make this a superb window.

I've not said he's going to affect next season much - and I don't.

Just clarifying my OG post regarding a loan back to B'burn likely not meaning much game-time. I've not projected anything onto you and made no suggestion of what he could or couldn't do for us.

We will still need to buy a couple of CB's this summer ...... but maybe he could be Dier's successor (as 4h CB) next summer if he has a good season next season

If that's the vision; so be it..... However, my default worry is that we starve our young players of game-time like we did KWP, Onomah, Tanganga and or subject the to a crap development plan like Clarke, Gil, Rodon etc.

We've been making a pigs ear of it for years now..... Even Nkudu could have been better handled.
