Isn't that essentially the sentiment the likes of Richard Arlison Richard Arlison were getting abuse for?

I mean, I do agree that faffing around on VDV could be costly now that RBL are flush.

They are exactly the kind of club his agents love too.

Modus operandi for them is to move their best players every 2-3 years. They may well see RBL as a better bet than Levy who is a pain in the arse to move a player if they perform well.

I'd be more concerned about them going for Tapsoba tbh, if they're getting 100m euros for Gvardiol off City they will likely make a statement of intent with their replacement, Red Bull aren't averse to spending big when they need to. VDV is a speculative signing for both us and them, Tapsoba is proven quality.

Specifically? Not so far as I recall.....

I remember he & I bickering about whether of not our interest is merely for show.... Maybe you have someone else in mind?
I know you like to try to catch people out on a technicality. I don't remember if it was you specifically or LeParisien, or the goat fella or ionman or whoever.

Over the last few days there's just a faction consisting of you and these posters trying to police "the melters", as well others like myself and Jaynola, for being overly concerned about the lack of a CB signing so far.

I do remember clearly it was Richard Arlison Richard Arlison pointing out specifically this risk, that some other club would swoop in and take VDV/Tapsoba, leaving us hanging, and getting a lot of pushback from some posters.

Tottenham reject ‘official offer’ to sign 26-year-old – €8m seen as nowhere near enough (ndombele)

sports witness

according to Turkish journalist Ertan Süzgün, who took to Twitter to state the Süper Lig winners have taken further steps to sign the Tottenham player.

He claims Galatasaray have made an ‘official offer’ of €8m for the Frenchman and want to pay this fee in four instalments. However, Ange Postecoglou’s side have ‘not accepted’ this proposal.

Ndombele?

Damn near asked for a free transfer with “add ons”

......Da fuck is this meant to mean...?

....Esp. when you follow up by saying:

I don't remember if it was you specifically or LeParisien, or the goat fella or ionman or whoever.

Well perhaps get your mind clear on the matter and get back to me. Either I'm guilty of something or I'm not .... And if you think I am; you should be able to back it up.

A "faction"? Sort it out...... No more of a "faction" as to when I get piled in on by 2, 3, 4, 5 people..... Perhaps you're conveniently turning a blind eye to ridicule I take on the chin here on a daily basis. You don't hear me warbling like a paranoid doofus about paid operatives, multis and group conspiracies.

....Again; if you're gonna complain about what you think I've done towards you then be specific; cos I certainly haven't been uncivil to you; but at the same time I saw you randomly lash out in this thread on a few occasions over the last day or two and call someone a cunt and similar.

If you think I've "abused" Richard Arlison Richard Arlison then please be specific, but bollocks if you want me to be responsible for anyone else's comments but my own.

Richard Arlison Richard Arlison - Please by all means tell me if you feel I have "abused" you.

No one is policing melters.
I think that there is a genuine concern amongst us all regarding improving our defense. We all want to see it upgraded. Personally, I want us to get in a solid LB ( not LWB) option as well as upgraded CBs although I doubt we will.
I think that there are those that think the sky has already fallen in and will be heartbroken (and the window ruined) if they don’t get two center backs that they had never heard of a month ago.

There are others (self included) that realize that we’re still linked to a number of center backs ( Tapsoba, VdV, Nelsson, Bremer, Tosin, and, yes, Lenglet) and expect us to get more business done.
Many clubs — and there were 12 that finished below us — are in the same boat.
We’re also very aware of the need to slim down the squad and some of the incoming will depend on outgoings and these may prove the most difficult transactions of all.

If there’s any policing it’s the ask that postings that belong in other threads are kept there where they can be ignored by those that aren’t interested.

That’s the clubs money that we’ve spent. Zero owner investment

I’m aligned with spending better, I agree that’s key but freeing up some personal equity will also help. After 23 years of only spending what the club earns, often badly. we need both investment and better spending
The quicker you come to grips with the fact that ENIC is not a mega rich football fan with billions burning a hole in his pocket getting to live his dream of owning his boyhood club, the quicker you will start focusing on what is realistic.

Clubs are bought either for sportwashing, or as an investment. Given we're not owned by Saudis/Qataris/Emiratis/Russians, it is folly to expect owner investment. So put all your energy into insisting the football operations are run as a world class organization and you'll have a very valid point.

I don’t have context here, but it looks like Levy will offer less if his offer is rejected?
How I read it:
He’ll make an initial bid on Tapsoba that will leave enough to get VdV
If that is rejected then he’ll bid 40 on Tapsoba which will then exclude any bid on VdV.
If our maximum bid of 40 is rejected for Tapsoba then we’ll bid 30 in VdV.
This suggests that we have less than 70m — by how much I don’t know— for both these CBs.

I know. I was just trying to be a cunt about £evy.
