Villa finished above us, I don't see why he would take a step down or at best a sideways step.
Douglas Luiz, Conor Callagher, who is coming up with these suggestions? They seem totally unrealistic and overpriced.

Ffs.

Villa finishing above us for ONE season does not make us a step down / sideways step.

Stop pissing on our club. We are a massive footballing institition and it’s time you showed our club the respect it deserves.

Managers like Mourinho and Klopp have to work their way up to a a level where they can command respect in a dressing room full world class players, Managers like Zidane don't have to.
What about Gerrard, Lamps? Michael Owen won a Balon d’Or, surely he’d make a great manager, too.

Leadership is not measure by who can do the best flicks and tricks or score the most goals. It’s about communication and emotional intelligence.

I'm going by the results of last season.

If we are a massive football institution then we need to act like it, for starters win trophies, back managers with good players not with shite.

Oh shhhh...... By your logic Palace, Brentford & Fulham are all bigger and hold more appeal than Chavski.

LMAO are you taking the piss. Yes, they finished above us this season - but on balance, we usually outperform Villa. It's not a step down in any way.

Oooh! 7 pages since I last looked, we MUST have bought a CB!

No, don't spoil it for me, I'm going to read everything and catch up. BRB.

Difference is chavski have won trophies, they've won the CL in recent years and still have huge spending power to get into the top 4. We don't have spending power to get into the top 4, we've got Kane ready to leave and we have a new manager unproven at this level, in reality we're looking at not sinking down even further.

Wouldn't Bentancur also be a good 6 in this system?

6
Biss
Bentancur
Skipp
Sarr?

8
Bentancur
Veiga/Gallagher
Biss
Sarr
Skipp

Adv. 8
Maddison
Veiga
Tanguy/Lo Celso

Loads of options there and very flexible!

Front 3 look good too, now just go and get some CB's!

Bentancur and Biss are ideal 6s. Don’t think either have the offense punch we’re looking for in the 8s

That’s the reason his reputation took a hit at Juve to begin with.

Hojbjerg and Skipp are the only players in our squad capable of playing that 6 successfully behind Bissouma.

If we sell Hojbjerg, it's pointless getting Gallagher or Veiga in. Because they're both 8s. It'd also leave us ridiculously short because I don't think Skipp is cut out to start (good depth) and Bissouma is going AfCON in Jan.

I don't understand anyone who sees Bentancur as a 6.
