Not having at least one centre half in this week is an absolute disgrace

We’ll scrimp and save and end up with Lenglet about 2 days before the start of the season, we’ve all seen this episode before
This is what I do not understand how we identify our targets and they were two players that would agree to come then we cannot negotiate to sign them. What do you think Levy’s excuse will be?

The fact is Chelsea are going to sign a CB this window because Fofana is to injury prone and Colwill wants assurances to sign a new contract.

This has always been our problem and has had the knock on effect that we get stuck with players.

Do grown adults really get worked up and foam at the mouth about the business other clubs do?

Or is just a way of being argumentative online?

Any excuse for the...

Your right. It's a disgrace..... but for the more level headed among us who haven't got our heads buried in the sand or between Levy's arse cheeks it's absolutely no surprise either

You're right, it is a disgrace, but the more level headed amongst us who haven't got anti-Levy posters plastered all over their bedroom walls, or who spend their lives in basements firing bb guns at pictures of his bald head are confident we'll sign at least one quality CB before the end of the transfer window.

:nunothumb:

Doesn't make it right though that it hasn't happened already, obviously.

Edit: I take disagrees from the usual suspects as a sign that my post is 100% correct.

I'm not sure why PEH gets such stick on here. There is a reason why Bayern and Atletico want him.

We certainly aren't rebuilding our squad by buying a 29 year old Ward Prowse.

Well, cause he cannot play under pressure and in small pockets of space for example?
He is not dynamic and cannot either keep nor progress the ball unless there is vast empty space around him.
He is not tempo-maker but tempo-taker, so he basically can only live on shoulders of others, not being dictating himself.

Oh, yeah, Bayern so desperately want him. It has been Bayerns wet dream to get him in their ranks.
That is most likely why they sold him to Southampton for as little as 15 mil ...

P.S I am not saying that he would be useless, or shit or anything like that. Just that his game has MASSIVE limitations. He is someone we can improve upon and quite honestly we have equal and younger player in Sarr already in the squad...

We signed Maddison because we were able to get him a cut price relegation tax deal and Levy supposedly is mates with his agent.

Do you think we would have got him if Leicester were still in the Premier League and a Saudi club were also sniffing a la Villa and Diaby? Would we fuck.
Levy has wanted Maddison for years, he was offered to Conte last summer. If Conte wanted him we'd have signed him last summer without doubt.

Same as Tielemans was offered to Poch but he didnt want him.

Levy definitely has problems, and is to blame for many things, however if theres ever a player he wants then it'll happen. He'll negotiate the fuck out of it (which is what riles many up) but that's part of being a chairman.

Stupid point. They're not, and a Saudi club wasn't sniffing.

Imagine thinking it's ok to shit on a great signing just to suit your agenda. If you can't give credit when it's due, then any criticisms you might want to make are equally invalid.

It's ok to acknowledge that signing Maddison was excellent business, whilst at the same time criticising (rightfully) that we haven't sorted the CB situation.

Try posting fairly, you might like it. Until then, don't expect anyone with a brain to take you seriously.

And you and your little posse can give this post all the disagrees you want - that just makes me even more correct.

On this post, disagrees mean agrees

Yes I keep saying that we had no need to buy porro for £40M! Didn’t exactly work out as the game changer. He was responsible for some horrible goals even playing at rwb. He didn’t really attack much more than Doh. Basically we dropped like a stone after he came. Ok the managerial changes did not help. Who’s to say if we kept Doh, spence and royal we would have performed any worse. Now it seems this cannot play in 4 so is basically useless. If we wanted a wide attacking player on the right we would not have gone for him. We’d go for someone who plays in that position. Shocking g transfer business all round!

Conte wanted him.

I suspect most fans wanted a CB, and 20/20 hindsight wouldn't change that

I’m not disputing that Maddison is a decent (I wouldn’t go as far as to say sensational) signing. He’s the level of signing a club of our supposed stature should be making.

The reason I spoke about it in the way I did is because I was replying to a post specifically about signing Maddison for such a low fee.
