We must be leveraged up to our eyeballs because as far as I can see we must not be able to afford a CB and must not want to withdraw the final £50m.

That is the only way to explain the hesitation when it comes to signing a CB. Also may be the reason we are willing to listen to offers for Kane, the only explanation is that we have been financially fucked by the interest rate rises. This is the only explanation for why we do not have a CB before the tour.

I think we have a similar problem to Man Utd in that we owe a lot in transfer payments. £252 million at the last accounts, only Man Utd have higher in the PL at £280 million

It was something I highlighted back in the spring and a potential reason why we might not spend much this window.

I don't really get it...

We are currently in talks regarding moving PEH on.
And then we are linked with midfielders such as Gallagher and Douglas Luiz for example...

But why the fuck are we not after Ward-Prowse?
He is HG, known quality, from relegated club. He should be gettable for reasonable fee?
Say we sell PEH for 40 mil and buy JWP for same amount - that would be an obvious upgrade and improvement of HG situation?!?

Or is that one of the moments when this deal would be too logical for Spurs to follow through?

I mean, we don't even seem to be doing any monitoring of Alex Scott, silky midfielder, Championship Young Player of the Season and self-confessed Spurs fan...

If we're missing that tap in, then anything's possible.

I guess it's much better to let him go to a mid-table club and then try and tempt them into selling 6 months later for less than they bough him for...

I'm not sure why PEH gets such stick on here. There is a reason why Bayern and Atletico want him.

We certainly aren't rebuilding our squad by buying a 29 year old Ward Prowse.

He's not very good

Anyone that thinks the lack of a centre back signing is somehow to do with 'Ange still assessing the squad' is deluded beyond belief. Even reading some of his quotes it's clear he wanted a centre back in by now.

Levy is a total and utter joker.

No Manager looks at our backline and thinks that it does not need major improvement. We just have to accept the signing of James Maddison was more a priority than signing a cb.

The only Southampton midfielder we should be after is Lavia.

Surely the manager and his agent should have done their homework, this type of hold ups, stalling, delaying and or dithering, happened to previous managers.
If we are not careful, we will lose main targets through fucking around.
Villa straight in boom agreed a deal, we are waiting for one or two out before they look at one in , it's insane the long drawn out way of doing things to save a pound.
So small club minded it's a joke.

Not having at least one centre half in this week is an absolute disgrace

We’ll scrimp and save and end up with Lenglet about 2 days before the start of the season, we’ve all seen this episode before
