They're pro athletes paid by the club to train & play...whatcha gonna do, leave them home doing nothing? What's that gonna achieve?
If you wanna sell them, it's also a wise move to keep them fit...no club really wanna buy a player who's not had a full pre-season. Plus friendlies put your unwanted in the shop window.

Don't get me wrong, I get fucked off when we screw things up whether its fixtures or transfers. When that happens I usually don't log on for a day or two because I simply don't want to read how fucked off everyone else is. That would make me just feel more miserable about the situation.
In fairness though, the Diaby lad was supposedly going to Saudi having turned down Villa only 2 days ago and now its changed. Things can change pretty quickly and all look rosy again.

I don't think there's really people who don't accept any criticism of the club, I think there's a group of people who bang on about ENIC 10 times a day in every possible thread, and then there's a group of people who want them to shut up.
What are the holes that Villa still need to fill? You sit there talking up Villa, because they are about to spunk 50 mil on a player, yet you have no fucking clue if that aligns with their strategy and plugs their holes.
