Shocked Price Tag GIF

People will laugh at this link but let's look at the facts.

- Mbappe is reported to be on 1.6m a week and Levy loves paying over the top wages.
- Mbappe is wanted by the richest clubs in the world and Levy loves the challenge of a bidding war.
- When Tom Holland told Mbappe to join Spurs, Mbappe laughed and said "impossible". He obviously said "Impossible" because we already had Kane, so if he goes to Munich, that will no longer be an issue. Mbappe was obviously laughing because he loved the thought of it so much.

I'd rather not sign any new CBs tbh

We've got the best CB in the world right now in Romero , and he's a super committed type of character too

And then we have a number of rising stars that can be nutured by playing alongside him , the likes of Dier , Sanchez , Rodon and Tanganga all have phenomenal potential upside

Tell me why would we bring in new CBs to block their pathway? And who would be willing to come in and sit on our bench ?

When you factor all of the above , it makes zero sense to go out into the market and risk putting the club's future in jeopardy for a position that we are so well stacked in

People need to remember that the owners run this club as a business you know

The sooner people accept that , their mental health over Enic/Levy will improve

You also have to consider FFP and homegrown quotas too you know

I think that is fair, we wouldn’t want to stand in the way of Dier, who could be better than him. Also thank the owners for raising the ticket prices, always love spending more cash, we are so lucky.

We played low-block football with 3 centre backs and 2 more defensively inclined midfielders all of last season but now we're going all out attack with 2 centre backs we will concede 10 less goals because of Bissouma?

I mean, maybe. But it doesn't sound all that convincing.
The point of keeping the ball is to be better defensively. People associate defensive football with better defensive records but that’s a naive view of the game.

Offensive football with the right pieces in play can be excellent defensively. Offensive football with defenders who are shit on the turn and easily caught out can lead to massive scorelines where you get killed by teams either better at said offensive football or ones who know how to kick long and are good at it.

If we bring in the right defenders, we probably will do better defensively. But the post I was responding to was in a scenario where we basically sign nobody. In which case we will get killed defensively, because we have either flat footed defenders or ones who who rushes out, leave gaps, and tries to decapitate the opposition.

Mbappe wants to join Madrid in 2024
PSG don't want to lose him for nothing.

Could we see a potential Kane-Mbappe swap deal? I think Mbappe would be open to it, providing the his contract with Tottenham was for only 12 months.

This way, Mbappe avoids being frozen out and can join Madrid in 2024 as a free agent, PSG get Kane for Mbappe and Tottenham get Mbappe for 12 months.

No.

I don't think we'll accept but at least that's a serious offer. Hopefully this circus is close to ending.

I hope we fucking do. We are going to lose him this summer or next. I'd rather have 100m this summer than fuck all next summer. This season is going to be a transitional one anyway. Write this season off (anything achieved a bonus) invest in a couple of high potential young forwards (Barcola, Kvaratskhelia, Adeyemi, Reyna, Tel, Cherki), 2 CB's and a right busy cunting 6 (Caicedo/Kone), just add a couple of real quality players next summer and start to rebuild for next season.
