The "But Conte" excuse is getting a bit lame now. Davies looked more stable than Lenglet for god sake.

He was dumped by Barca and they can't wait to get rid. Nobody else is in for him either. And then he was poor on loan for us.

He's not a good option, no matter how many green bars show up on the stats comparison because he can distribute well. He doesn't improve us defensively and I can only imagine he'd be even worse in a 4 at the back setup.

Bit unfair to dismiss the 'but conte' stuff when you haven't seen how any of the players have adapted to a different system. I get your point but I think it would be more appropriate to at least see where we are in a few months post the Jose/Nuno/Conte schools of defensive football, getting over run in central midfield, before dismissing that as a reason for such poor performances.

That isn't meant to be a ringing endorsement for Lenglet by any means, I just find it weird how these pro athletes get branded as poor after some bad spells at clubs that are in chaos and clearly quite toxic.

But if PSG said £120m to Spurs and Bayern refused to go over £70m (for example), I think Bayern are in trouble !
PSG's oil money blows the Bavarians away.

Any transfer fee from PSG for Kane will be significantly higher.

But also if they clear Mbappe's wages off their books with a big chunk of cash from the Saudis, & with Messi already having gone to the US, they can offer Kane a much more lucrative salary package than Bayern.

FC Hollywood old timers are already kicking off about Kyle Walker's potential contract.

I think Devine goes on loan.

He was only filling in on the RW because Solomon was called into the first starting XI.

His best position is CM or CAM. Would be wasteful to play him anywhere else.
Not sure I agree on that for a young player learning his trade. Playing them in different positions is often beneficial in the long term, as it can give them a better understanding of team dynamics. Not to mention it will give him valuable minutes. Of course, if he's really struggling, then you might want to re-evaluate, but that will also give you an insight into his adaptability and character.

I remember when Jol started playing Lennon on the RW, which he struggled with at first, but he persevered and I think it actually helped Lennon in the long term.

A loan may just be the best thing for him, but that will all depend on what AP and the club feel is best for developing him into a versatile midfielder, or as a player for a specific role.

Personally, I can see merit in either approach, as long as it is the best decision for his development. Most of it will be down to just how much he impresses AP I would guess.

Lenglet was rubbish pre Spurs and his club can't wait to get rid of him. Pretty sure Xavi isn't pro defensive football and if anything a silky ball playing LCB should be high up on his love list. Yet it sounds like they'd get rid of 10p and a packet of wotsits as long as he's gone ... funny that.

Some players (Bissouma being a key one) I can happily say I'm excited to see outside of a Conte setup, but the likes of Lenglet weren't shackled by the system, they just aren't all that good. He's crap aerially, positionally suspect and slow. Him in a 4 with a high line in this league would be horrendous.

Just heard on ITV News that Tottenham (and Chelsea) are interested in Mbappe but the Saudi club were leading the way.....

Yes, the reporters were being deadly serious

Tabsoba and VdV are crap aerially. I don’t think Lenglet has been positionally suspect - are you thinking of a particular time? Maybe I forgot.

However he is slow and Tabsoba and VdV will both be an improvement on Lenglet in a high line.

If we signed lenglet it would be as a 4th choice centreback and he’d be fine for that purpose. He’s very good in the ball.

I think PSG got them panicking if the story they are in for him is right. Even if Kane prefers Bayern, PSG can move the deal and locate the price.

This will be similar to Rice with Arse really wanting him and City at least giving it a go getting West Ham their price.
PSG can offer £20million more than Bayern but Kane can say no, then either Levy accepts Bayern’s offer or Kane goes next year on a free.

I don’t think Kane would go to PSG.
I feel his sole reason for wanting to leave us to get winners medals in his collection. Had he won a couple with us I reckon he'd have been a one club man for life.

As a result, I'm not sure that he'd be too bothered about which club he went to, the result will still be the same. What may sway it for him is which he thinks is most likely to win the CL. In recent years, PSG have been just as likely to win the CL as Bayern, possibly even moreso.

I also expect a lot of his decision will be influenced by his Wife and, in fairness, Paris likely has more to offer, in the way of a multi millionaires lifestyle, than Munich does.

I can’t imagine either of those two divs will start a game. You are spot on re: Sanchez’s legs giving way and falling over - and Dier not tackling. That’s not tactical or a blip of bad form, it’s ingrained
Yes hope if we get decent defenders who can play football we half a chance. However the fact dier seems to have some sort of “injury” or “fitness” issues means he can’t be sold. Strange that ….
