He’s done everything the club could expect of him and more.

Nobody can grudge him a move if he’s wants it.

We think German league and cup means nothing, he won’t if they are the only medals in his cabinet at home.

Levy thinks trophies are only for your ego

Absolute nonsense.

Anyone who has convinced themselves or been brainwashed into thinking Levy would not have liked to see more trophies under his regime is just blinkered.

If it's about money alone then trophies bring even more money and even more investment. Simple correlation.

This Levy doesn't want success is akin to saying the English FA appointed Southgate so they didnt win major titles.

Rubbish in other words.

I don't know much about Tapsoba, but he seemed to be pretty good at mopping up those dangerous long balls when playing in a high line.

Whoever we buy, ideally it's a "physical specimen" type who is good at recovery runs and aerial duels. Will need both with the likes of Romero, Udogie and Porro in the side.

There’s lots to like about Tapsoba, but aerial duel ability isn’t really one of them.

The thing is, there are very few cb’s who are great defenders and great footballers.

Reggie gone this week

Davinson as well.

Deal for at least 1 CB by midweek as well most likely.

Give Leverkusen the 40M they want

I also find Gold’s perplexity as to why Kane would be interested in a move to Munich very strange, saying things like “I don’t see how it would be good for the Kane brand to play in the Bundesliga” … what utter tosh.

When has Kane ever come across as a player interested in his “brand” or even financially motivated in any way.

Kane wouldn’t care if no one watches the Bundesliga, so long as he wins one, which he’s almost guaranteed to do at Bayern. He also has an absolutely massive chance of winning a Champions League. Also, by moving abroad he keeps his relationship with the Spurs fans in tact, which he clearly values, whilst simultaneously escaping the absolute farce our club is right now, but also has the possibility to move back to us in the future to see out his career when he’s done what he needs to do in Munich.
Munich is also a fabulous city just a short hop across the water from London.

The move is an absolute no brainer from Kanes POV, I would say.
Agreed!

Alasdair is so naive! He wants Kane to stay one more year then maybe sign a deal?

Come on Ali… Ffs that’s not gonna happen. Kane is doing right by us by being willing to go abroad

one more year the pl vultures start throwing money at him and then it’s a fucking nightmare disaster for us

Kane is 30. He's the England captain, the top leading goal scorer, has played in Euro and CL finals, big matches. He went to the world cup this winter, bottled a penalty, and then played one of the most brilliant 4 months of his entire career just to see his manager collapse, get sacked, his replacement concede 6 goals in 10 minutes to Newcastle, also get sacked, just to end up in 8th place with Ryan Mason.

What fucking brand is Tottenham Hotspur offering him. He has all the goalscoring accolades and records one could ever want. He has all the love from Spurs fans he'll ever get. He has nothing to gain by grinding for 7th place and maybe a cup final for the rest of his career.

Also Bayern actually have what is called depth, and play in an easier league, so if anything he will have an easier time playing football and extending his career there. Here he has to run his arse off and be at the centre of every single thing we do to score goals.

Big matches, big trophies, world exposure in the CL... at age 30, that's what the Kane brand needs. Trophies galore. And I can't blame him. He has given his all to the football club. It's Daniel Levy and the club who has failed to give their all to him.
The Champions League final was a big game and gave him exposure but he was poor and we all knew that he knew he wasn’t match fit but put personal glory ahead of the team and messed up.

Every single thing about that poxy CL final bothers me, from Kane showing up clearly unfit to Moura not starting to the handball to the fact that Eriksen bottled every single challenge he saw.

I know we were the inferior team and ultimately Liverpool deserved to win.

But we couldn't have put ourselves in a worse position.

Every single player would have wanted to play that game.

The problem is the club and manager are the ones that should make the decision whether he should start or not.

But we probably left the decision up to Kane because we have been treating him as though he’s bigger than the club for years.

Harry is as much to blame for his lack of silverware as anyone else. Not just the Madrid CL final, he's come up small in the biggest moments habitually.

Not to pile on, I love the guy, but this revisionist tosh about how the club has let down the brave and valiant Harry Kane (who threw a strop and tried to force a move to City, having given an interview stating as much before the season even ended, and then sulked about not getting his way for 6 months) is a bit much.

Trying very hard not to sound like a suck ass here but the TFC podcast make the exact same point about crazy money for some midfielders and a huge difference to what are considered as a decent player.

If we paid 100M for Declan Rice (as good as I think he is) Life would be just a video game. I'm thinking specifically about hookers and baseball bats.
I don't play video games. But are you saying there is a game about hookers?? I'm all ears!

Yes, slim to zero chance Kane would re-up his deal.

But getting rid of your best player isn't the best way for a new coach to fit into a new and much more competitive league.

Having Kane will certainly make Ange's first PL season a lot easier than not having him. Kane would be able to cover up a lot of cracks

There's certainly value of Ange having a strong first season.

I'm sure the new manager, was aware that Harry would be gone for the start of the new season.
It's just whether, the club will back home with, decent signings, that is where the doubt is.

The idea that a striker who doesn't fit the system, and who isn't committed to the club will necessarily make the PL season a lot easier is immediately suspect to me. We've had a little taste of what a Kane led attack under Ange looks like, and it's pretty toothless. Not to mention that the media frenzy around Kane will reach a fever pitch once it's clear he's running down his contract, he'll be linked to every single top six club + Newcastle, constantly. That's far, far from ideal circumstances for a new coach trying to build his project from the ground up. Ange himself said he wants it resolved as quickly as possible.
