Of course it does. The forwards we're currently linked to are Gift Orban and Brennan Johnson, neither will cost anywhere near the 90m we'd get for Kane, and I doubt we're actually going for Johnson. Where else will the money go? Why have we been negotiating with them for a month now if we have the money to buy either VDV or Tapsoba?

Bournemouth quietly doing very smart business this summer. They could be the new Brentford this year.

I remember when most Spurs fans used to think we did smart business. Miss those days.

Likely to be one that we (esp. fans) will be kicking themselves over in 12 months, but (like eg Eze, Olise, Bowen) if he's primarily focussed on 1st team football at his age rather than 'big moves' then hats off to him.

Without European football we'd have likely done another 'starvation' job on him.

See you in 4 years when you've wound your deal down and you come to Spurs on a free, Alex. : P

Ange is well-known for subbing his 8's on 60 minutes and rotating his 8's and forwards to attack specific weaknesses of opponents.

I don't see why anyone would think Scott is less ready than Gabri Veiga?

Annge could definitely use a ball carrying 8.

Van de Ven and Veiga would be enough for me to know that whoever we have in charge of transfer has no fucking clue what they’re doing. Those two would make me lose whatever remaining confidence I still have in the project and our ceiling as a team under Ange.

Scott would have (had) to fight his way through quite the pecking order by the time Bentancur gets back.....

Veiga: Means nothing to me; sorry. I can't comment on other peoples opinions on players.

Season starts next weekend.

Phew, what a pre-season this has been. 🔥

All the pieces slotting together, nicely. 👌

We all ready to go, yeah?!

What does everyone think - 4th... 3rd??

I'm sure there is no way GLC would choose us over Barcelona if there was really a choice. Earlier reports say that Barca wants Lenglet, GLC swap.

Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou is hoping to convince Giovani Lo Celso to snub interest from Barcelona to stay in north London, according to reports.

Postecoglou has had to deal with a lot of potential upheaval since agreeing to become the new Tottenham boss at the beginning of June.

The constant speculation over Harry Kane’s future has been unsettling but there are also a number of other players with their future up in the air.

One of those is Lo Celso, who spent the 2022/23 season on loan at Spanish side Villarreal, with interest coming from La Liga giants Barcelona this summer.

Spanish outlet Estadio Deportivo claim that Lo Celso has ‘two real future options’ this summer; stay at Tottenham or move to Barcelona.

The Argentinian ‘feels the confidence of the new Tottenham coach and does not rule out continuing in London’ with Postecoglou ‘trying to convince’ him to stay.

Tottenham have already ‘scared away most of the suitors’ by insisting on a permanent switch with the Premier League club starting the bidding at €25m.

Napoli attempted the purchase but their bid of €15m was deemed ‘not enough’ by Spurs chairman Daniel Levy, who was also not keen on a loan with an option to buy.

Postecoglou has told the Tottenham hierarchy that he ‘prefers Lo Celso over Hojbjerg’ with the latter attracting interest from Atletico Madrid.

And now ‘everything depends’ on the player with Barcelona the only club ‘who may have the money’ to buy Lo Celso this summer ‘with the coffers fuller’ after a number of outgoings.

Lo Celso is said to ‘fit the bill’ for the Catalan side and president Joan Laporta ‘could definitely get within range’ of an acceptable offer this summer.

Another player likely to be on their way out of Spurs this summer is Sergio Reguilon, who spent last season on loan at Atletico Madrid, with Real Sociedad interested in the full-back.

Spanish newspaper AS claims that Reguilon ‘never stopped’ being in their transfer plans with the La Liga side holding talks with Tottenham back in June.

Manchester City’s Sergio Gomez and Paris Saint-Germain’s Juan Bernat are also on their radar but there are now ‘signs of [the deal] prospering’ after ‘new contacts’ were made between Sociedad and Spurs.
