Then how the fuck do you explain this?

Has to be Photoshop. There's no way he mixes those fats with alcohol. Zest Zest ?

I'm sure there is no way GLC would choose us over Barcelona if there was really a choice. Earlier reports say that Barca wants Lenglet, GLC swap.

Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou is hoping to convince Giovani Lo Celso to snub interest from Barcelona to stay in north London, according to reports.

Postecoglou has had to deal with a lot of potential upheaval since agreeing to become the new Tottenham boss at the beginning of June.

The constant speculation over Harry Kane’s future has been unsettling but there are also a number of other players with their future up in the air.

One of those is Lo Celso, who spent the 2022/23 season on loan at Spanish side Villarreal, with interest coming from La Liga giants Barcelona this summer.

Spanish outlet Estadio Deportivo claim that Lo Celso has ‘two real future options’ this summer; stay at Tottenham or move to Barcelona.

The Argentinian ‘feels the confidence of the new Tottenham coach and does not rule out continuing in London’ with Postecoglou ‘trying to convince’ him to stay.

Tottenham have already ‘scared away most of the suitors’ by insisting on a permanent switch with the Premier League club starting the bidding at €25m.

Napoli attempted the purchase but their bid of €15m was deemed ‘not enough’ by Spurs chairman Daniel Levy, who was also not keen on a loan with an option to buy.

Postecoglou has told the Tottenham hierarchy that he ‘prefers Lo Celso over Hojbjerg’ with the latter attracting interest from Atletico Madrid.

And now ‘everything depends’ on the player with Barcelona the only club ‘who may have the money’ to buy Lo Celso this summer ‘with the coffers fuller’ after a number of outgoings.

Lo Celso is said to ‘fit the bill’ for the Catalan side and president Joan Laporta ‘could definitely get within range’ of an acceptable offer this summer.

Another player likely to be on their way out of Spurs this summer is Sergio Reguilon, who spent last season on loan at Atletico Madrid, with Real Sociedad interested in the full-back.

Spanish newspaper AS claims that Reguilon ‘never stopped’ being in their transfer plans with the La Liga side holding talks with Tottenham back in June.

Manchester City’s Sergio Gomez and Paris Saint-Germain’s Juan Bernat are also on their radar but there are now ‘signs of [the deal] prospering’ after ‘new contacts’ were made between Sociedad and Spurs.
Why do we have to accept a fucking 25m Euro bid for him? If Ange wants him to stay just tell them to fuck off, or raise the price to at least 35m or something reasonable.

Barca are skint.

They are losing Dembele for 50m and they won't even be able to spend all of that on transfers.

They keep putting out links to Lenglet and Kessie, desperately trying to use us to extract some value from the guff in their squad.

We won't be buying either and Lo Celso will be here at the end of the window. IMO

He doesn't have any power, if a an acceptable bid comes in for him, he'll be sold, just like Kane will be sold.

Assuming Bentancur is back to his best this season is a massive risk.

It would still see Scott grappling with Maddison, GLC, Sarr and even Ndom'd'dom'dom'dom (if he stays).... Maybe even Biss too if Skipp rises as the DM.

(TBH; it's if you go back to my OG comment; it's a suspicion not a claim to be fact..... And none of this is to say I wouldn't have been keen to see him signed.)

We won't be buying Lenglet because we are waiting until the last moments of the window to get him from free.

What's your problem with VDV and Veiga?
Two posts below:
Transfers - Summer Transfer Thread 2023!

To sum it up both have rather glaring deficiencies that do not complement the side around them well. And more than anything, deficiencies such are these limits the upside of a prospect.

In Veiga, his lack of passing and reliance on pace, reactivity, luck and overperforming Goals/Assists reminds me so much of Paulinho/Dele… if they aren’t scoring they’re basically doing fuck all… and in a side with Son and Richarlison, we can’t afford two players like that in our attack.

In Van de Ven, his complete lack of aggression and shocking aerial ability doesn’t solve problems for us. Sure he can run over 30 yards but can he step into a tackle? Can he command a physical striker or take charge aerially us on set pieces? The videos I’ve posted show that he cannot. His aerial ability is so frighteningly bad.

Likely to be one that we (esp. fans) will be kicking themselves over in 12 months, but (like eg Eze, Olise, Bowen) if he's primarily focussed on 1st team football at his age rather than 'big moves' then hats off to him.

Without European football we'd have likely done another 'starvation' job on him.

See you in 4 years when you've wound your deal down and you come to Spurs on a free, Alex. : P
I feel like this is a comfort blanket that is used too often, that we tried but couldn't convince these players to join us for not being able to guarantee opportunities.

There was nothing to suggest with any of those that we got to talking terms with them and missed out to others.

Not saying it's not possible, but it's just as likely that we just fucked up and chose against going for them.

I'm 95% certain based on not much in particular that if we went for Scott he'd choose us over the other clubs discussed, there's quotes from him in an article I saw recently where he seems to think that Alfie Devine is basically living the dream and he's had nowhere near any consistent first team opportunity in his time here.

Despite my consternation at us seemingly not being in the race for his signature, I do think the fee Bristol City are after is a little on the absurd side, and am very surprised that it looks like there are clubs willing to bite at that price.

Still, it annoys me that Wolves and Bournemouth seem to be capable of taking that punt and yet we aren't, and it will absolutely do my fucking nut in that in 6 months time we will no doubt be sniffing round and monitoring him after a few decent displays, and offering Josh Onomah, £3m, and a portion of the economic rights to Marcus Edwards, as if that is likely to entice whoever does buy him into selling...

X2 8’s in Ange system. Needs 4/5 to rotate and keep them fresh.

Biss looks like he’s starting as a 6.

8’s:
Maddison
GLC
Sarr
…..

Until Bentancur gets back, that last spot is open.

Maybe Tanguy sticks around? Maybe he doesn’t. If he didn’t, there are minutes for Scott

Utter nonsense 🤣

The only thing frighteningly bad is your footballing opinions.

Anyone who disagrees with this post is equally wrong.

It's a speculation; but it's a reasonable one... Otherwise, why do such players end up at dismal clubs like WH & CPalace? Why are they not ending up at Liverpool, Arse or similar instead of us?

.......It's not like we're not prepared to pull the tigger on players of this ilk: Spence, Gil, Udogie, Sarr.... And Possibly that young Blackburn lad.
