Dreamland. Brentford and Man Utd are set up to exploit our defence when they get the ball. Our hope is that we are clinical in attack and convert the chances we create with our attacking play. I think we will need 3 goals to beat Brentford and maybe 4 to beat Utd because we are going to concede goals.

I hear your concerns.

Do you feel 1 CB will change that or are we going to need to score 3-4 goals all season?

I can imagine Davies holding the LB position for a short time as Udogie can be a bit raw defending.

I think Porro and Udogie are the future as they have incredible talent but we need to have a stable defensive platform first
The problem is that both Porro and Udogie were bought to play as WB's under Conte's system. I don't know much about Udogie apart from seeing him play two 45 minute sessions in the pre-season matches, he did look a bit ropey defensively, as does Porro, so the alternative is to play as you say Davies at LB, and Emerson at RB... I just get the feeling that Ange is going to go with the more attacking options though.

And you can spin that positively by saying that Brentford and United are going to need to score at least a few goals against us, because we are going to SCORE goals.

I know it's a release clause, but I'm asking what happens when two clubs both want him. Do you know?
What happens in any transfer where two clubs are interested???

Player chooses, someone else can bid more if they want but as it's a release clause all offers over that have to be accepted, and the player will just go to whoever he prefers regardless of whether they were the highest bidder or not...

1 is definitely not enough. And more pressing is the need to remove as many of the existing blundering idiots from the squad as possible.
IMO, our best CB I'd Romero and even he's a take it or leave it player. If he said he wanted out, I wouldn't cry.

Thanks, that's what I thought. I don't give a fuck where the money goes. Just because there's a release clause doesn't mean a club won't lose out to a club paying more (not necessarily the opposite, either).

So, in short, if someone else comes in, we're probably not getting him.

2 CBs. As soon as Romero is injured/carded we'll need another quality CB to step in.

We're going to play aggressive football against some aggressive clubs. We need a solid defence. We're not going to have it all our own way.

Tottenham officials meet with Bayern chiefs on Monday to discuss a move for Kane, but Sky Sports reports the Bundesliga giants remain £20 million off Spurs’ valuation.

Nevertheless, Tottenham have been linked with a host of strikers as they prepare for the possibility of Kane leaving.

And Football Transfers reports that Spurs are considering an attempt to sign Romelu Lukaku on loan.

The report states that Ange Postecoglou is keen to sign the Belgian striker, with Spurs willing to cover his £300,000-a-week wages.

And with Postecoglou reportedly interested in signing Lukaku, former Spurs boss Antonio Conte is also a huge fan of the striker.

Conte on Lukaku
Speaking to L’Equipe ahead of the European Championships back in 2021, Conte lauded Lukaku as one of the best strikers in world football.

Of course, the Italian worked with Lukaku during his time at Inter Milan and the Chelsea striker thrived under his guidance.

“Right now, he is one of the best strikers in the world,” Conte said. “He already had important physical and technical skills, but in these two years we have made him progress even more.

“His presence in the match, his teamwork and clarity in front of goal [has improved].”

It’s fair to say that Lukaku’s £97.5 million switch to Chelsea hasn’t worked out after he admitted his desire to return to Milan just months after moving to West London.

He spent last season on loan at Inter, but the Nerazzurri pulled out of a deal to sign him permanently this summer after learning he was also talking to Juventus.

Lukaku has proven he can mix it in the Premier League after brilliant spells with Everton and West Bromwich Albion. But it would be a huge surprise to see Spurs move for him if Kane leaves.

While he boasts brilliant qualities in the air and the box, he doesn’t seem well-suited to Postecoglou’s style of play.

Would be great business. Still a very good striker!

How many times does Lukaku have to flop in the PL before teams stop being interested in signing him? This for sure seems like bullshit to me as I can't see the Chavs signing off on kicking the Lukaku can down the road another season whilst "strenghtening" a fellow PL side and London rival but it's actually harder to believe that anyone feels they can make a success of him in England after repeated failure after failure.

Not sure that's accurate. Not that I want to be seen defending him, but Romero, Porro, Hoijberg, they were all on longish contracts with clubs that didn't want to sell them. Must be more but I can't remember them all.

But there's no doubt at all Daniel fucking loves a transfer where he has the aces in his hand.
The fact this behaviour has repeatedly been detrimental to our club for 2 decades should make him the most hated man in Spurs history. Up there with Judas tbh.

Porro had a release clause
Romero was on loan to Atalanta from Juve and had some specific contract situation where they could sign him but had a release clause after
Hojberg was 12m as he was last year of his contract.
