This had better be with the intention of signing both, it's too late in the day to still be pissing about with this will we/won't we scenario of weighing up which is our preferred move...

If I was a player I'd be pissed off being strung along like this too, I suppose vast sums of money could soften that blow but it would certainly dampen my enthusiasm for the move and that could potentially have a knock on affect on attitude going forward.

The Centrebacks,the Centrebacks.

I haven't watched much or paid attention to VDV, so can't really comment on him. I think Tapsoba should be OK, he's good on the deck, he's reasonably quick and mobile and turns OK. Potentially very good for the system in possession as he's very comfortable on the ball. I think his weakness is he's not the most physically imposing CB. But then, you can't have it all.
Reasonably quick, turns ok, not imposing……why do we want him then?

VDV is 22-year-old and a starter for a Bundesliga team, he'd also be our second best CB, he's definitely coming for the first team if we don't sign Tapsoba.

He’s played one season for a Micky Mouse Dutch side in Volendam before moving to Wolfsburg for circa €3m. He’s then had ‘one’ season at a mid table German side. One season in top flight football doesn’t = ready for the first team in the EPL.

If you look at his recent performance reports especially for the Dutch under 21s his performances were rated as poor. Yes he’s lightening quick but for me I would be utilising him as a left back rotation with Udogie and if and when he matures, then looking to see if he has what it takes as a CB.
