Yeah, he was pretty much perfect bodywise in his last season here. When he went to Real he obviously tried to compete with Ronaldo and overdid it.I would add that over bulking probably contributed to his injury list and cut his career short.

“Typical Levy, signing Sonny’s mate on the cheap to further exploit the Korean market, he should be going for a proven CB like Skriniar!”Regardless, it was the more logical deal to do. KMJ had a huge ceiling as he has gone on to prove. He was the natural choice for a team with the highest profile player SE Asia has ever produced. Even from a commercial point of view the interest from the Asian continent would have been off the charts. Tickets, shirt sales etc etc. Penny wise, pound foolish. We would have been raking it in rather than trying to pimp out Rodon at a loss.
Shady financial deals don't even come close to comparing with the invasion of a country that has left tens of thousands dead and mothers on both sides mourning the loss of their sons for no fucking justifiable reason whatsoever. You were the one saying the club should take a moral stand and not deal with Russian clubs, how come you throw morals out the window where fraudster is concerned?
Yes, either option really. At some point we have to give youth a chance like most other teams in the Prem. Sign him but don't loan him. Then reassess at the season's end.Or better still, get him signed up in good time, let Ange see how he measures up in training against PL players, and then decide.
There aren't that many big time strikers to begin with. Most would be punts on promising youngsters who may end up the next big thing.Sure, Orban or another striker.
Doesn't look like they will target a big time striker though
100%.“Typical Levy, signing Sonny’s mate on the cheap to further exploit the Korean market, he should be going for a proven CB like Skriniar!”
The North (17) remembers.
Isn't the point of the buy and loan idea to get players before they become really expensive, even if they aren't ready for your first team?He should. Our loan system is very non productive. With Richy, Son and hopefully Kane the boy will still get minutes.
It was still the more logical deal to do than Rodon? Even from Levy’s MO? Since when would anyone’s comments trouble Daniel? The club really exploited the vast Welsh market with Joe Rodon. I imagine outside of his family and friends, the club shop probably sold under a thousand shirts and less tickets to games to watch him play (when he’s played)“Typical Levy, signing Sonny’s mate on the cheap to further exploit the Korean market, he should be going for a proven CB like Skriniar!”

If this was a CB, I'd agree. But we're ok in the attacking areas, even with Kane leaving, so this is more like succession planning.Spot on. A club can’t always be building for the future without addressing the here and now.
It is of course a crucial part of a clubs development and planning but it can’t always be jam tomorrow.
The time for all the talent of tomorrow should have been while we spent 2 years signing nobody at all because the first team was performing so well under Poch. Anyone could see that the cycle would end rapidly. It always does in football. It’s how clubs forward plan. And we didn’t when we really should have.

According to this report his Argentinain club want to keep him on loan for six months.Yes, either option really. At some point we have to give youth a chance like most other teams in the Prem. Sign him but don't loan him. Then reassess at the season's end.
It’s where we’re not ok that’s the problem. No point in succession planning where we are presently ok whilst ignoring where we are presently looking very dodgy. If this was a CB, I'd agree. But we're ok in the attacking areas, even with Kane leaving, so this is more like succession planning.
I disagree totally. What we are doing now in this window from what I can tell (& what we did with Rodon) is fish where the big boys don’t venture until the smaller clubs have taken the “punt”.
If Son was bending the clubs ear (if) then the club should have taken note and gone the extra yard. Rodon was the alternative punt and it’s not turned out well for the lad’s career or the club. At least with KMJ there would have been even more feverish support coming our way - which means money- which Daniel clearly likes very much.
It was a complete fuck up. As was selling Dembele for peanuts in the January window when we could have wrapped him in cotton wool. A fresh Dembele in the CL final makes the difference. We didn’t even replace him in that window!
Different examples of where money grabbing and penny pinching have hurt the club.
Could see him going on loan again in January.According to this report his Argentinain club want to keep him on loan for six months.
''To that end, Romano added the Argentine side will push to include a key clause that would delay Veliz’s arrival in north London for at least six months.
Rosario Central hope to loan Veliz straight back if an agreement is reached. Per Romano, they want Veliz back in their colours “for at least six months.
If Spurs agree to that demand, Veliz would not link up with his new Tottenham teammates until at least the January window.
That would do little for new boss Ange Postecoglou in the here and now, especially if Harry Kane is sold.''

Tottenham agree deal to sign lethal striker, but key clause could leave Postecoglou raging
Tottenham have struck an agreement on personal terms with an Argentine striker, though the structure of deal being proposed could prevent an immediate arrival, per a top source.www.teamtalk.com
I'm not saying it does but you're wanting the club not to do business with Russian clubs while turning a blind eye to someone who has committed fraud, there has to be consistency there.Shady financial deals don't even come close to comparing with the invasion of a country that has left tens of thousands dead and mothers on both sides mourning the loss of their sons for no fucking justifiable reason whatsoever.
Richie and Sonny should be enough for the first half of the season. The kid can make some cameos in the second half and hopefully with Europe next season will get even more time. I'm not too fussed about him joining in January.According to this report his Argentinain club want to keep him on loan for six months.

Meh, quite happy to Gil a chance, he is quite promising too, when he played last season, I don't think he ever put in a bad performance.
That’s perfect hindsight.Regardless, it was the more logical deal to do. KMJ had a huge ceiling as he has gone on to prove. I’m sure if the club had wanted him to stay and get himself fit, he would have stayed. We were competing on several fronts and ended up in the biggest final of them all. A fit and fresh Dembele would have had more impact in that final than an unfit Harry Kane. I’d put my mortgage on that. Genuine big game player.Dembele crocked when he went, and his choice as he was not fit enough to play in PL
If all the big european clubs didn't rate Kim, no surprise we bid relatively low - the fact we did bid probably shows Son's influence. Turkish club got a bargain. It happens
