Udogie is a wing back and we're playing a back 4.
Porro is also a wing back on the other side.
So far we have not yet signed a CB capable of shoring that defence up.
I'm not convinced VDV is that player. At least not yet.
You can't actually be serious that a kid no ones heard of from Blackburn is going to be anything other than a Levy punt that he can flip him for £10m in 2 or 3 years after some loans?
We definitely need two centre backs in the door as well as Romero. Three fighting for two spots is healthy. There’s more than one way to shore up a defence. Different formation, style, keeping the ball better and playing on the front foot will limit teams chances against us. Confidence also plays a big part in it as we saw that at the end of last season when it was shot to fuck. Getting a top centre back in next to Romero or two in to play together will improve us in that department in terms of conceding goals. What we can’t do is sign a kid from Blackburn and expect him to be ready who might turn out to be a star but might also turn out to be Rodon.
I look at Newcastle’s back four and last season not one of us would be happy with Trippier and Burn as full backs and Schar and Botman as centre backs. What they did was get a style of play that suited them, had a pride in defending and played within a structure and with confidence.
If we line up with Porro and Udogie as full backs and Romero and VDV as centre halfs and start the season well then these boys will be flying. They are all hungry, quick and aggressive players but they also have a lot more ability than that Newcastle back 4. Getting good decent players comfortable and confident week in week out you will get results like we saw with Newcastle. Getting excellent players like we have comfortable and confident week in week out then we could go to another level. I’m excited what is coming because for the last 4 years I’ve been bored out my skull watching this team (apart from the end of 22/23 season) and I honestly believe we will actually enjoy going to games or watching Tottenham on tv again.

Way that reads is that the €100m number includes add ons

So like £75-80m base and then another £10-15m in add ons.

I don’t think Levy takes that, I am now about 95% confidence that Kane is going to stay.

People will say they are disgusted… then watch it anyway

Much like the WC (and like most things in life); some will have conviction. some will have just been blowing hot air.

Bearing in mind all one needs is an internet connection to pretty much watch any game in the world; there's something quite perverse about going out of ones way to watch that shit show rather than La Liga or somewhere of higher quality and pedigree..........

Nah everything is pointing to the sides not being agreed

-Weird deadlines
-BILD writing hit pieces on Kane
-Charlie Kane setting timelines
-Levy setting a timeline
-Bayern setting a timeline
-Levy trying to unset Bayern’s set timeline

It’s all got a bit of bollocks to it at the moment and seems like a ton of posturing and not enough actual money. I don’t think he goes.

Dream scenario would be levy spends all of the money he thinks he will get from kane on transfers we need, delaying the sale so we don't have to deal with inflated prices....and then bayern pull out of the deal, so we are left with kane and levy has accidently pulled the transfer trigger

This is not even £90m by the way.

The exchange rate is .86 so if they’ve given us €100m that’s only £86m.

I personally think we must take that, but Levy very likely will not take it. I’m pretty sure Kane is staying if this is the only bid they’ve made.
Does that exchange rate stay the same over the period they will pay us?🤣🤣🤣
We won’t be getting 100 million euros put into the bank staight away. If only eh?

Fair enough.

Wreaks of done deal, in principle.

Think we’d like two en-route to sign, by the time it hits press, so fees are locked in (VDV and another high value spend). But it is going to happen I’m about 95% sure.
